Hi, all! I just turned 50. I can't believe it. I have 60-70 pounds to lose. I'm a preschool reading teacher. I have been divorced for 8 years, but right now am living with my ex (LONG story but we're still good friends and he's sheltering here during the pandemic because he normally works overseas and the borders are…

I should add that I have no idea how to friend anybody (I feel so silly since I used to be a regular on this site, lol), but I sent a few of you messages. Feel free to add me!

Hi, I used to be around these here parts about 5 or 6 years ago regularly, but dropped off the face of the earth for the last five years (not really, just crazy life things). I just turned 50 and have a good 60-70 pounds to lose! I am a reading teacher in a private academic preschool, love to write, and I love food and…

Feel free to add if you like. I'm 5'2 1/2" and about 160, all recent weight gain. My goal weight is 120, but I'll kiss the scale when I get back down to where I was just a few years ago, at about 137.

You look gorgeous! Way to go!

I'm a teacher! I'm a little different because I'm a specialist (I deal with small groups) so I can occasionally run to the bathroom between groups, but it's not easy because I have a strict schedule to follow and the staff bathroom almost always has a line! I have to admit that I have not discovered a solution to the water…

you're welcome to add me! I'm 5'2.5" and about 160 currently, age 44. I also have started eating mostly paleo-style (more for specific health reasons than because I think it is some magic weight loss tool). I'm not always good about logging food and my diary is private, but I do talk about what I eat and I am always…

I love these threads! Very inspiring! I was curious to know what your calorie amounts were?

43, no longer married, no kids, perfectly glad about it!

I understand this quite a bit. I had a very traumatic event happen about 6 years ago, followed by an amicable but still grief-inducing divorce, and wine became my crutch for awhile. In some ways it still is, haha. Still working on that. I was drinking more wine than I wanted, but as soon as I recognized what was going on,…

yes, in the last place I lived, my cats killed a few mice over the years (old house). Now that I live in a newer place with no mice, I think my cats are bored out of their minds...:)

ha, so true! I guessed the fourth but I was the third!

I think as long as you keep to your calorie amount in that one meal that it would be successful. The success would lie in the satisfaction of getting to have a more substantial meal instead of smaller less satisfying meals.

I'm 5'2.5" and currently am about 148. Want to weight 110-120. We'll see! I think I'll like anything in the 120's!
-
well, I know for me, I WANT to be working out vigorously, did running and intervals and stuff for years, but I am suffering from a lot of knee pain lately, and I suppose things like that get more common as we get older!

I work at a school, too. People use the lounge to dump off anything they don't want at home or leftovers from classroom parties or sometimes just homemade treats specifically for us. Luckily this particular school is not nearly as crazy with the food as others I've worked in where there was practically elaborate snacks…

Goal: to stick to my calorie range 95% of the time. My diary is open to friends.

Your stats sound very similar to mine! I'm 5'2.5" also (don't know my body fat percentage, but in the 30's sounds probably about right) and I'm 149. I would like to get to 120. In a dream world I'd be around 110-115, but we'll see how I feel when I get in the 120's...

bump (I love reading these...I'm about 5'2.5" and hope to be a success story some time this year!)

I might have commented somewhere deep back in this thread, I have no idea, too lazy to read back through everything. I'm 43, no kids, divorced. I work with kids as part of my job, I like kids, adore my nieces, but no desire to have any of my own.

I didn't start at 40, I've been running on and off since I was a child...but I'm 43 now and I run! And just saying that the woman who was the female first finisher in one of the marathons near where I live was 41! :)

skim milk (or any milk at all, really, but skim milk is ALWAYS mentioned as a weight loss food), steamed broccoli, brussel sprouts, spinach (it's okay, I just don't love it), boca burgers

I ordered a variety pack once and I find them absolutely vile. Ick. Like someone else said, I think they taste like chemicals. Plus I can taste the fake sugar (whatever it is).

I've been a teacher for years and I am presently a reading specialist so that means not as much prep time or grading (and I tend to have more free time during a given day to get things done than a classroom teacher) because I'm teaching the same thing over and over again most of the day in 30 minute periods. Because I have…

My hair probably doesn't qualify as long yet (it's just past my shoulders) and it's not really straight (more wavy), but it's definitely closer to straight than curly. My hair is extremely fine (baby fine) which means tangles galore if you don't watch out, especially if I leave it down and it's windy outside. My solution…

I've so enjoyed reading these. I'm 5'2.5", 151 pounds. I want to be 110-120 (depends on what I look like when I get close to 120) I've been struggling for years to get into the right groove to lose the weight. I'm getting a lot closer now. Was 156 right after the holidays, so lost about 5 pounds since then. But I have a…

I was having difficulty with my type of binges for about a year and a half recently (thankfully I've ended that pattern) and for me, it was getting super excited about eating ALL the foods, planning for it, ordering takeaway food when I wasn't even hungry, and then eating past the point of fullness in order to satisfy…

oh my gosh, the rudeness just astounds! :*( You look great in your pic, and he's just a grade-A a**.
