  • Anyone want to be friends? I'm 46 and been battling this weight for years. I need to get solid on this.
  • I took my daily calorie goal , subtracted about 300 for a snack and then divided the rest by 3 . So I know how much each meal calorie wise I can have. If that helps.

  • I would like to journal but I wish I could find a community like LiveJournal . I do not like that Livejournal is now Russian owned as it kind of worries me about the safety and it use to be a pretty active community but no more. But other than the fact that I wish I could find something online which I don't need to setup…

  • Are you sure 1200 is the correct calorie goal for you ? That's the first thing I would check. Make sure you are entering the correct activity level as well when you calculate this. You can check it against http://ratfactor.com/tools/fatcalc Then drink a glass of water and see how you feel after that. You want to make sure…
  • Same here. I have a Gmail account that I use to email recipes I have saved. I find it way more convenient than a recipe book so I even take pictures of recipes I like or find the recipe already typed out on the internet and send it to that account. Gmail lets me tag the recipe , and search.
  • A lot of veggies work well with pasta sauce and you can make a vegetable lasagna using them.
  • I'm with the previous person. If your family is old enough , it would be beneficial for them to learn how to cook their own meat. It's a skill they will need down the road and you are right. Buying already prepared meat can be expensive but not only that it may be too much sodium. But lets go the route of giving you some…
  • Hi there! I was doing the 16/8 for ... 2 weeks and got use to it but then I was put on some medication that gave me nausea when I first started it . I'm over that hump and want to get back on 16/8 again. Today is my first day and I'm doing well. I do have a question which I haven't found an answer via. Google. Can I do…
  • Regarding motivation. Try setting mini goals for yourself , take pictures of yourself through your progress and set mini rewards that you can obtain when you hit your goals. Like say if you lose 10 pounds then allow yourself to buy yourself a shirt or get a manicure. Or if you log your food for 1 week , do something…
  • Great job!
  • Most of my vegetarian meals are kind of high in calories I think. LOL I'm not vegetarian but try to get about 2 or so days in that don't have meat just because I think it's healthier for me and my husband. My husband is a meat and potatoes kind of guy and even though he's more open minded about food ( two different ethnic…
  • Holy Moly you look fantastic!
  • Ugh. That's the Health At Every Size (HAES) mindset and the founder (or I think she's the founder) says this. That it's where your body naturally wants to be and it's pointless to fight it.
  • Just eat whole foods and you don't need to worry about calories.
  • I think there is an option in settings to have the step counts not count towards your exercise but I don't know where it is. I have my activity level to sedatary and I let the Fitbit steps count for my activity. That maybe an option for you .
  • I weigh daily. I just keep in mind that weight will fluctuate.
  • Learning your body's hunger signals isn't a credit to Slimfast unless you mean that you will be hungry for half the day so yea LOL. Tracking my food combined with noting what's going on when I do eat will helped me learn not only my body's real hunger signals but also made me aware of my bad eating habits IMO. I learned to…
  • Oh and since you like Yummly , you may want to check out http://www.tastespotting.com/.
  • I have a gmail account setup to send recipes to. I love that its easy to search , you can add labels and have filters handle everything for you. I have recipes labeled by multiple categories like what its main component is (like tomatoes, or chicken) , and it's type (like side, dessert, main dish, etc ), whether it fits…
  • Okay I'm not low carb but dang some of these recipes look great. My husband would love that cauliflower lasagna recipe I'm sure. Got to try it. Thank You!
  • So many. I love gadgets. My garlic press maybe the tool I use the most frequently however. I found a great one on Amazon that has a little gadget to clean it so it makes it easier to use. After that then maybe my Kitchenaid with all of it's attachments. I use the food processor attachment the most . Makes really short work…
  • I tried slimfast when I was younger before MFP was around and I was hungry all the time and it didn't agree with my digestive system. In the end I didn't lose weight. I would never do that again. Plus if you do lose then what? You go back to the eating habits that made you fat originally? Nope. You are on MFP, you should…
  • Feel free to add me. I have stopped and came back a few times myself but I haven't completely given up. IMO I don't think there are really "bad" foods and I don't think a person should deprive themselves of it but instead learn to eat them in moderation and logging your food on MFP is a great way to do that.
  • My favorite vegan meals currently are * Buffalo Cauliflower "wings" . I make my batter with vodka and buffalo sauce which keeps it crunchy. * Black beans and plantain tacos * Green jackfruit pulled pork * Cauliflower Alfredo with Polenta * Chickpea "tuna" salad * Falafels with my version of tabbouleh salad where I use…
  • I'm not vegan or vegetarian but I like to eat a lot of vegetarian based meals. Pinterest as mentioned is a great place to start. You mentioned cheese. If you have the time there are nut based cheese subs you can make which are pretty good. Some can be even melty like. I make a vegan ranch from soaked cashews to cover…
  • I had this issue when first starting out. Fat , water, fiber and movement seems to be the key for me. Oh and coffee .. coffee seems to usually make me go lol.
  • Since you brought up that there was still oil in the pan, maybe weigh what you put in the pan and then weigh a paper towel, wipe up the remaining oil and weigh the paper towel again? Or just pour out the remaining oil and subtract the difference? Try and use less oil than you normally would maybe another option so the…
  • Congratulations! You look way younger.
