  • We have only just got our treadmill and cross-trainer and linked up with iFit. I think it's an amazing idea. I get very bored with gym equipment (home gym) so this I think will keep me stimulated.
  • Sorry can't help but I was very surprised too. I read an article that said you had to download your workouts then transfer them over to MFP :/
  • I joined today...finally hooked up our new Nordictrack treadmill. Done a beginners 5k...Loved it...great distraction and can't wait to do the next.
  • Hi there. I am not a triathlete but I have taken part in a self-imposed sprint tri with a friend a couple of years ago in Spain, my partner is a triathlete though, so I understand your fitness and sport. I have always worked out, but since working 30 hours per week since September and having my Grandson 14 hours (before…
  • I have used MFP on and off for so long. I never have tons of weight to lose (always aim to get under 10 stone) but generally I put on 10ib max then lose a good 8ib, start feeling comfortable and slip. After Christmas 2015 I was my heaviest (11 stone 2ib) and by April was in sheer panic and joined SW online. I have realised…
  • I should of added she started juicing in August.
  • Shocked at some peoples attitudes on this thread. I have today decided to give juicing a go and was just looking for some advice and support. I have had a juicer and Jason Vale 7ib in 7 days book (it was free) for years since I juiced whilst pregnant with my last son...as it is such a healthy way to live. My friend…
  • I am reading this thinking...okay confused now. I do a bit of everything and it's all very on and off. i do some light weights, do some squats, sit ups and planks when I feel like it...go through stages of Wii Zumba....row my Concept2 but now really enjoying the treadmill. I really need to write up a bit of an exercise…
  • Thank you for your input everyone. I will read that report fully later
  • I've opened my diary to the public. I try and eat back my calories when I exercise. Sometimes (weekends mainly) I go way over. I keep a steadyish weight and at 5'4 I weigh a smidge under 140Ibs. Ideally i would lose between 4 and 7 Ibs but to be honest...i am more interested in being fit and toned and hope the rest falls…
  • I would of thought porridge or oats (Readybrek). I am against microwaves but if you are that pushed for time you can buy the ones you stick in the microwave or the ones you just add hot milk or water too. Oats are very filling :)
  • I like this idea :)
  • I love butter and hate margarine. It's always butter for me. It's more natural and better to use as long as it's in moderation.....I feel the same about sugar v sweeteners. :) However...I do sometimes use margarine in my baking but not often x
  • What really interests me is that there is so much to take into account when working out ideal weights. It shows that age, happiness, muscles and bone structure have so much to do with it. I was always told by my mum when growing up, that my family are heavy boned. As I got older it was evident. I got down to 122 Ibs when i…
  • I am 5'4, 45 years old and weigh 145 Lb (Christmas baggage). I usually hover around the 142 LB mark which I feel comfortable at due to my age and the fact I have had 5 children. Ideally I would like to get down to 136 IB. I was just wondering how many Net calories you aim for? I did a lot of rowing to get down from 150 Lbs…
  • I have a Concept2 rowing machine which is awesome. They are extortionate to buy from new but we picked ours up for a bargain on Ebay, second hand.
  • That was suppose to be Erg as in Cross Trainer :)
  • I do use a HRM monitor so when I use the rower I know how many calories I have burned. The Eg has a built in monitor and I was keeping my HR at 140 but still it said a low amount of calories. Weird. Thanks for replying though :)
  • We have just acquired a weight bench so this post has been helpful, thanks :)
  • This really needs to be made a sticky so everyone reads it. It's written very well. Can someone do that? Who are the Mods on here? Like most people I've read this stuff before but after a while I forget it and the odd day I still have calories left, I feel proud., which is stupid. I also need reminding a lot why to bother…
  • To be honest Sarah I don't use distance as a guide. I use the weight loss programme which gives me a schedule in minutes. The link is here http://concept2.co.uk/weightloss/interactive. I row between 30 mins to 60 mins each time but if you fill in the details it will give you a schedule. My partner rows by distance but I…
  • I have a concept2 rower which my partner wanted and bought and which I was against, but I LOVE it. I have been rowing on and off for 2 years, tend to have a break mid winter and during the summer because of school holidays etc but generally row 3 or 4 times a week. It's a thorough workout and I love the way it tones…
  • What a truly wonderful story. It brought a tear to my eye. I hope you are incredibly proud of yourself for turning your life around. xx
  • That's exactly what I do and it's a brilliant tool. Before I discovered it I use to list all the ingredients seperately trying to figure how much of each I would of eaten, nightmare lol.
  • Ohh ok thank you for that. Well then I might eat a handful of walnuts through out the day and maybe I'll have a slice of wholemeal toast with an egg for lunch :)
  • I've had it and I have always found massaging your thumb between the bone and the muscle really helps although it can be quite tender and also if you have any lavender oil, massage that in. It works for me. Debs x
  • I was wondering something similar yesterday after I had done 30 mins of Elliptical training. My machine said I had only burned 150 yet on MFP it said it just under 300. Then I saw someone else had been on theirs for 30 mins and was quoting they had burned 300 cals. So I checked my cross trainer and I had put my weight in…
  • Thank you for the suggestion and it's a good idea :) I was also thinking I might make a big veggie curry for the family (jar of curry but all my own fresh veg thrown in) and just have a little bit with a small portion of brown rice. That shouldn't be too many calories. I've been sitting here for ages wondering what on…
  • I have the same dilemma!! All I know is I had 2 weeks free of exercise, birthday parties a camping trip which included copious amounts of alcohol and picnic treats and I lost 1.5 ib. Then I came home was eating my 1200 calories and put ON weight. I thought it was the previous 2 weeks catching up on me but now I'm starting…
  • Count me in to please!! Also in the UK and 43 and had 4 children in my 20's and NEVER had a problem with weight. Got into my late 30's and the weight started creeping on. Had my 5th child at 39 and weighed pre-pregnancy much more than before even after giving birth. Metabolism has certainly slowed down and it's so…
