I'm in! I'm looking to run the Pittsburgh half marathon in May. :) I've never done a half before (or even a 5K, for that matter).

Be careful with Vitamin B. I started taking B-12 this summer to help with anxiety, and it has completely broken out the skin on my face. Apparently, this is a fairly common reaction. So now I have anxiety because my face looks like a pizza! Haha.

I never had the typical "freshman fifteen" thing (probably because I didn't drink in college and tried my best to eat sensibly), but I did gain a few pounds that came right back off after I graduated. It's just the lifestyle - inconsistent schedule, night eating, etc. And eating right is especially hard if your dining hall…

Nice! Thanks for the laugh this morning.

Power walk power walk power walk. I have gotten into a regular routine of walking three miles almost every day, and everything on me has lifted and tightened. Arms, breasts, butt, stomach. And calves most of all!

Hahaha, it's about time the Cheesecake Factory shaped up their menu. The calorie count is ridiculous! Wonder if it was done in response to articles like this: http://eatthis.menshealth.com/slide/worst-pizza-slice?slideshow=184637#sharetagsfocus

I've had this problem since high school. I've read that it's caused by a Vitamin A deficiency, and that the "bumpies" (as I so lovingly call them) are excess keratin built up in the pores. I've started taking a tablet of Beta Carotene every day and have noticed a slight improvement. Sun exposure also helps. Thanks for the…

Thanks for the info. :) I stay away from aspartame, Splenda, and all those things, but haven't really done much research on Truvia and Stevia.

Squats work well for me. I do 50 a day and keep my abs tight while squatting. Also, tighten your tummy whenever you do cardio.

Hahahaha. :drinker: Hey, we're all going to die eventually.

I have a desk job too, at a K-12 school. I try to force myself to get up and take a walk around the school at least once, just to do it. Or use the copier outside of my office, rather than the one five feet away.

It's best to stick with clear liquors. Vanilla vodka and soda water has become my new best friend. And sangria or plain red wine are great for the nutritional benefits. And go to a dance club!!!

Yeah, my legs are definitely not extended almost the whole way when I pedal. Thank you!

The last ten pounds are the HARDEST to lose. I just wanted to lose five, and lost the first two with great success. Now...I'm stuck. My eating habits are great. I exercise four or five times a week. And yet...nothing.

A huge thing that has helped me is to stick to the OUTSIDE AISLES while grocery shopping. Yes, occasionally I dip in for some crackers or pasta or whathaveyou, but really try to shop along the perimeter of the store. This has definitely helped me limit my processed foods.

Mine is Christine, except that it's spelled 'Cristene'. My mother's maiden name was Crist, so that's why. I think it's cool. I wish I had a nickel for every friend of mine (male and female) with the middle name 'Lynn'.

I wear high heels all the time, so I usually stand about 5'8'' when I'm out and about. My male friends berate me constantly! They always tell me, "you're tall enough without heels! Don't wear them!" But I feel short without them! :P Just goes to show you how men in their early twenties think...apparently short is good!
-
I stand 5'5 1/2'' but usually round up to 5'6''...I'll join in on this, though. :) Right now, I weigh 120 pounds, down 3 pounds in the last month or so. I'd like to lose a few more - I think I'd be happy at 118. I typically wear a US size 4, although the pants have been a little saggy lately because I've lost 2'' off my…

A slice of Papa Murphy's Hawaiian pizza only has 158 calories in it. Not bad for "takeout" pizza at all.

I would customize your goals. MFP has my BMR at 1320. It suggested I take in 1300 calories a day. Yeah. Uh. Plus, I have a really fast metabolism and have to eat constantly throughout the day. I was ALWAYS hungry. I customized the settings and ended up with 1680 a day, and am much happier/am losing weight.

Hahaha, I sing this almost every week at karaoke. Badly.

I made this last week with my mom and WOW...we ended up eating a sizable portion of it that night! Took it to Easter lunch at a friend's house and served it with Tostito's Hint of Lime chips. Everyone raved about it and wanted the recipe! Thanks so much for sharing!

Can graduate students join too? ;) I'm writing my thesis proposal AND finishing up my last class right now...so stressful! I just want comfort food!

I distinctly remember seeing "do not ingest if pregnant" on the backs of Nutra-Sweet packets (which is aspartame).

This. I don't drink soda, but if you're going to drink it, drink the real stuff every once in a while, not something made in a lab.

That's great that so many people have had a good experience with it! I drink a cup of hot green tea every day at work. Gives me a slight caffeine boost with none of the calories of coffee/creamer. And I've noticed that it curbs my appetite. I'd love to drink more of this during the day. Helpful hint for those that don't…

This looks SO delicious! Quick question - what constitutes a serving? A cup?
-
I agree with the previous post...combining dancing with drinking is the best! I burn over 500 calories from two hours of dancing, so I don't feel guilty at all about drinking!
