  • I did Low Calorie with lots of exercise and lost 90 lbs over 18 months. The first 60 lbs came off in 30 weeks, then the rate of loss slowed down significantly. I maintained a weight of 180 to 190 for a two years but had to continue to keep my calories low in the 1500 range to maintain. I found I was always cold, especially…
  • It may be possible you are consuming too much protein and not enough fat. I have my Macros set to 75% Calories from Fat and 20% Protein. Apparently your body can convert Protein to Glycogen. It is hard at first to eat fat as we have all been brainwashed that Fat Bad, Grain God. I add 35% fat Cream to my Coffee, use the…
  • I've heard about the intermittent fasting for a while now and have not paid any attention to it. But there may actually be something to this. When I lost most of my weight I didn't have my first food of the day until noon because I found that it was easier to control my appetite. So without knowing it I was actually…
  • Here is a condensed version of that garbage documentary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skIGCoopR-g&feature=player_embedded
  • Do you even know how to dance?
  • I have a scale at home and a scale at work and I really do not care who see's me use it. If your are overweight then it is obvious anyways. Even now that I am much more fit than I used to be I just tell people I closely monitor what I put in my body because I have past issues with being very overweight and it helps me keep…
  • Kitten???? Really MFP? I have been away from the forums for some time obviously.
  • You are kicking *kitten* man, *kitten* yeah man!
  • You really asking that question? Okay fine.......Eat less move more!
  • To be honest the only Macro I ever concerned myself with was the protien and total calories.....everything else takes care of itself (IMHO). Think of food as Fuel for your body, not a comfort mechanism.
  • After 6 months holding close to Maintenance. Mine is now set to Sedetary and 1.5 lbs a week which gives me a calorie goal of 1500 a day. This really isn't difficult to achieve, you just have to make the right choices of filling food that are not too calorie dense. Doing cardio exercise and burning extra calories will…
  • Yeah like he said, 800 seems really low. Depending on your height though maybe 1000-1200 might even be better. Key though is accurate logging. (Weigh and measure your food). I have heard of these diets where you are put on 800 calories a day and given needle shots......But I am more of an advocate of controlled weight loss…
  • My original goal weight was 180lbs (90 lbs loss), but as I approached that (I am now 2.8lbs away), I realized that I still could lose 10 more lbs....so I have changed it to 170lbs for a grand total of 100lbs lost.
  • 112 grams of fat a day, really? So about 800 calories perday just from fats......sorry but I highly doubt that. Not even sure how you could get to 112 grams a day in fat.....do you just eat butter like it is ice cream Or you could eat 7.5 cups of Rolo Ice Cream (but that would be 2400 calories).....sorry but i call BS on…
  • Nuts are very calorie dense. When I am trying to cut it's just too many calories for me because it prevents me from eating more and more filling stuff. When I lost most of my weight I tried to make choices that would still enable me to eat a considerable amount of food, but still keep the protien high and the calories at a…
  • To be blunt......you don't want it bad enough.....think about that.
  • Dehydrating is one option. Another is canning (mason jars). You can cook meat in the mason jar and it will be preserved for at least a year safely without refridgeration.
  • I just squeeze lemon juice on mine....leaves way more calories for the good stuff like steak or chicken :)
  • Beer is not so good when trying to lose weight. Regular beers are about 150 Calories per 341ml bottle. 10 beers is going to be all you could consume for the day. yeah you could just go over your calories by 1500 but then half of what you accomplished that week will have been lost. Vodka and Diet 7UP, Rum & Water, Rum and…
  • Listen to the above post, I am just reinforcing. Do cycles of Bulking and Cutting.
  • Amazing......this is a true success story in more way than one.....way to go. The hard work is always worth it.
  • Great job man, and looks like your doing a good job toning up as well.
  • Love this........what I love the most is that you have taken it off over a longer period of time. 67.5 lbs per year is such a healthy way to drop the weight, and still fast enough to keep your self motivated and keep the momentum going. Your looking great, and no doubt are much healthier.....way to go and keep it up.
  • Have to Agree with Niner Buff. Yeah you could lose 15 lbs in a month........but it is not healthy and will not likely stay off. Follow the good advice that people are offering you. Do not try to lose more than 2 lbs per week (or less) and commit one honest year of your life. If you honestly commit 1 year.......you should…
  • I wouldn't take swimming lessons from someone that doesn't know how to swim or art lessons from someone that can not draw a stick man.
  • I agree with the OP. Why would you take health and fitness advice from someone who is overweight/obese (and not improving)........they would kind of come across to me as hypocrites. No different than "Never trust a skinny chef".
  • For Dinners: Lots of Veggies (Tin foil wrapped with some low sodium Soy Sauce & Garlic), fresh corn, Meat like Chicken & Beef for the BBQ. For Breakfast: Crispy Bacon (Get the bulk of the fat out) or even better Peameal Bacon, Egg Whites (Easier than whole eggs and are great with a little salsa on them), Yogurt, Whole…
