  • Go to the gym tonight.
  • Didn't have chocolate dessert tonight. Tempted but stayed away. Also managed to almost do a full proper push up, my nose was 1 inch off the ground (measured by a book I had used as my target). My aim for this year was to do 10 proper ones...looks like quite an easy goal now. Hmm time to think of my stretch goal.
  • I was just like you and would prefer to stuff myself rather than throw out food. Until a friend pointed out that I can either waste it by throwing it in the bin or waste it by eating it -as I do not need the calories. In essence as soon as you've bought too much food it's a waste. Helped me get over my mental block of…
  • I didn't eat chips at work yesterday. Even though they are my absolute favorite and I normally get a huge plate full every Friday. And I'm giving away the award chocolates that we were given today.
  • I chose to have ice cream. Not in a it's been a crap day I deserve it mentality but in a I really fancynso ice cream healthy relationship with food way.
  • Could easily do the baby cricket and hold it. Last time I tried was over a year ago and it was really difficult to hold it for 15 seconds. I haven't been practicing but over the last year I got a PT for weight lifting/cross fit work outs. Today in the gym after stretching decided on a whim to give it a go. Knew I had…
  • I went to the gym last night and did the workout that someone posted on here: 5minutes running at normal speed (NS) 1min walking 4minutes (NS) +0.5 2min walk 3min (NS)+1 3min walk 2min (NS)+1.5 4min walk 1min (NS)+2 I didn't quite get the speeds (9.5;10;10.3;10.5;11); and found the middle section the hardest. But I did…
  • Madwife I hope you had a wonderful afternoon with your daughter, your love for your children is so apparent on here that they will know it too and the little mistake made in irritation won't factor into her memories of park runs with you. I also wanted to say that your posts on here are so inspiring and bring me so much…
  • NSV 1:Smashed out 10 assisted pushups. The time when you surprise yourself with how strong you are. NSV 2:Went to the gym last night even though I was tired and had spent the afternoon eating a full Sunday roast. Didn't make it through my work out. NSV 3: didn't let my failed workout upset me. In the past I would have felt…
  • I completed my everyday in the gym challenge for July. Now August plank every day; currently 2 minutes total but want to increase that. Longer term be able to do a proper push up... got a long way to go on that one, but I'll get there.
  • I just did an easy work out; but found it so difficult. It was just running on the treadmill. My mind though found it difficult, my legs weren't strong enough and my mind gave up. My NSV is that I'm back in the gym. Since doing my july month I have only missed one day- which is awesome for me as normally I meet a challenge…
  • My skinny hip dimple went away! I was upset that my pronounced skinny bit on my hip had shrunk, I was keeping to my calories and hitting the gym so why was it not there? I poked it and discovered that there was still a lack of fat over my hip and the dimple had shrunk because the fat pocket below it had shrunk! Less of a…
  • I'm almost at 50 days and it's my longest streak too. I'm going to follow your lead and aim for 100!
  • Sorry my writing go mixed up in quotes: "Amazing; I love reading about your adventures and triumphs. Great admiration of you. When you had "only" done 47 miles you could have told your son that you had done 75km; nice round number for him. But then you went and smashed out the 60 miles. I can run (not fast), but…
  • I eat 5 cookies. So trying to loose weight that's not the victory, but what I did afterwards is. Firstly I acknowledged that I shouldn't have brought in cookies to work; they are my weakness and although my intention was to share that didn't happen. Secondly I acknowledged that I had eaten too many and threw the rest (3)…
  • Stop stressing over the weight. Now that you've got some tactics to refocus on (which ever you choose) focus on those goals. For me when I get to a plateau I make sure that I'm logging correctly and then focus on a fitness goal; knowing in the back of my mind that the weight will get there (and even if the scales don't…
  • Going to the gym everyday in July. Still at it; still succeeding (even managed to get my husband back to the gym after a bought of flu derailed him a month ago!). The closer I get to the end of the month the easier I find the motivation as the prize is just 11 days away. Personal achievements that have come out of this - I…
  • Ive been on MFP for 3 years and currently have a 35 day streak (my longest yet!); your goal is sometimes my goal regardless of how long I've been doing it. Sometimes just have focus on the foundations.
  • Definitely a NSV; not only did you put yourself first but you have a great understanding of your journey and what works for you. Something similar happened to me. We did a work step challenge and friends of mine in another team started a mini league. Only they cheated (counting the steps from driving over rough terrain…
  • Go to the gym everyday in July. So far so good. Last night only did bicep curls and above head chest presses (not sure of real name). Then 20 minutes of stretching; but still I was in the gym and it's better than nothing. Going to write myself a minimum exercise list so even when I'm too tired I can go to the gym and do…
  • Person at work noticed, which then made me determined to go to the gym tonight.
  • Go to the gym everyday in July.
  • 1. I am back (after a lot of false re-starts); logged in for 5 days but my mind set is just different from the other times. 2. I have drank at least 1l of water everyday for the past 5 days. This is dramatic for me; previously I could just go with one glass a day. 3. I was exhausted yesterday and dinner (which I have no…
  • loose 1kg. 250g per week. Slow and steady.
  • I logged everything that I eat today. I'm over my calories and because of that I'm not having dessert.
  • This is what happened to me: I lost weight, got fitter and stronger than I ever thought possible. Then I started to eat more and do less until all the good work was undone. And now I'm starting again. I don't know if you're like me in anyway, but if you are here's the letter to my former self I wish I had had "Well done,…
  • Thanks Chamie, Yeh I find it's a spiral (both ways), when I'm eating well I feel like exersizing more which leads my body to crave healthy food. Then through the great resuts (weight loss, stronger, fitter) I become motivated to push myself more. And the opposite is true. I guess was just looking to be straight back to…
  • Hello, I'm back on the weight loss/fitness journey and find that doing it again is so much harder. The first time round all the little changes and my increase in strength and fitness were really motivating. It has now been over a year since I was where I wanted to be and I keep re-starting, going nowhere and stopping. It's…
