I bought running shoes and downloaded the c25k app! Wish me luck y'all!
NSV: last time I tried to buy running shoes, the wide width was still too narrow and hurt my feet. The salesman stood me on that thing which is supposed to measure hot spots in your feet and the whole thing was red - basically my whole entire foot had too much pressure on it. Every shoe he put on me hurt just to walk across the store in, much less do anything athletic, so I told him no thank you and went home and exercised barefoot. Now my feet are much slimmer, normal width feels okay, and my husband and I went for a 2.5 mile walk last night to try out the new shoes - no hot spots this morning!34 -
My wife and I have worked out every day for 2 whole weeks. We're doing cardio every other day and strength every other day.31

I just did an easy work out; but found it so difficult. It was just running on the treadmill. My mind though found it difficult, my legs weren't strong enough and my mind gave up. My NSV is that I'm back in the gym. Since doing my july month I have only missed one day- which is awesome for me as normally I meet a challenge then once I've achieved it I'll back off. Other NSV is that I still pushed my body/mind. Wasn't as fast but I still remember when the time I got was a huge achievement for me. Tomorrow I'll havea better work out.25

I went to a wedding this weekend and ended up putting on a belt over the dress I picked out in an attempt to make it look less baggy. Overall a success, until I realized the arm holes were also too big and my bra was peeking out. I guess it's time to buy a couple new dresses.26 -
Ran the whole 5k obsticle race, and completed it in under 40 minutes. When I started out years ago in MFP I couldn't even run a solid 1/4 mile without walking.24

I like to see physical amounts of the weight that I've lost. So yes, this is a NSV. I have, as of earlier this week, lost the weight of these two cats combined. Although after a fun night out this weekend I gained a tail or two back.

My husband opened a bag of Doritos. I pre-logged 3 Doritos. I ate 3 Doritos. Fin. They have been a weakness of mine since childhood, and I could easily eat a Family Size bag if I let myself.43

To top it off I went back to Express and tried on the size 10 shorts that a few weeks ago I had a little muffin top so I didn't buy them, they now fit perfectly. Of course my luck they didn't have the color denim I wanted. And I bought a size 8 skirt from H & M!!! WTH?!? It's a tad snug, but the 12 was too big and they didn't have a 10, so I went with the 8. A few weeks and it should fit perfectly!
Size 8 is my goal size! By no means am I there yet (still have a lot of weight to lose), I'm sure the skirt was vanity sizing at it's finest, but gives me hope that hopefully my the end of the year I will firmly be in size 8 in most brands!
I literally just wrote this a few days ago about the shorts at Express. This weekend I decided to try and track down the size 10 shorts at a few other locations, and still came up empty handed ☹️. But I don't know what came over me lol, but I decided to try on an 8 to just see if I could even get them up. They fit essentially how the size 10 fit a few weeks ago...I can button them, but I have some muffin top action going on. But I went ahead and bought them anyway! I am sooooo excited a size freaking 8! Hopefully they will fit perfectly in a month so that I can enjoy wearing them before fall arrives.

Last week I ordered some socks. They came with a free gift of knee-high socks, which I have never in my life been able to get over my giant calves.
Until last week.
See if you can guess how much money I have now spent on knee-high socks41 -
A couple of co-workers have told me I'm their inspiration for getting back in shape. I never expected to hear that I'm anyone's inspiration for anything.41

1. I decided restaurant leftovers were mediocre.
2. I threw said leftovers out.
Lots of win in there for me.38 -
Yesterday at the end of my skateboard session I ate *kitten* and bruised my shoulder and elbow. Wasn't too happy about it at first, but it made me realize and appreciate something. I'm taking risks on my board again. I was trying to learn kickflip manuals and I didn't even really try learning those even in highschool. Not only that, but I wasn't out of breath when I fell either. When I first started skating again I was 220 and felt like I rearranged all of my organs when I fell. At 180 I felt light and was able to roll out of it. Bumps and bruises are a part of skating and it made me feel pretty damn good that I could end a session feeling like I really went for it. Going to go for it again today.43

Ran into an old family friend at the gym this morning and took a few minutes to catch up with her. She praised my dedication - we've been seeing each other in the halls at the gym since I became a regular last September, but we haven't been able to sync up to chat...someone's always running to make it to a class!
I really appreciated that she's just noticed that I'm at the gym all.the.time. (5 days/week!) The consistency matters more to me than the scale or my clothes...showing up at the gym even when (like this morning) I am exhausted and it is pouring like the apocalypse is what will make a difference in the long run, and it definitely my determination and dedication rather than a focus on weight loss that keeps me going. The shape of my body is only so much under my control...showing up to take care of my body regularly is something that I am actively choosing to do, and it made me happy that someone else sees that and recognized it.32 -
Scale hasn't budged but I bought my first pair of size ten GAP jeans a couple of weeks ago, washed them over the weekend and put them on today and they're already looser than they were when I got them!30

My husband did an overnight walk of 31 miles Saturday night so on Sunday he treated himself to Ledo's pizza and spicy toasted ravioli, which I love. A lot. I had one ravioli, and fit it into my daily calories. A few months ago I would not have had that willpower.
I did, however, figure out that at 45 calories each, I could have an entire order of them for an entree if I adjusted my calories for breakfast and lunch accordingly. (There are eight in an order and are considered an appetizer.)26 -
I've been really good and stayed in my calories for the last 5 days AND exercised every day. But I am currently feeling very smug because we went for a walk this evening and I have turned down the egg fried rice my boyfriend is currently making. I will not be eating it as it's not in my calories (And it smells sooooo good) I DO have will power!!27

NSV: I gained two pounds over the weekend. I didn't freak out. I'm trusting the process.
Edit: this actually has to do with a scale, but I hope it still counts. It's a Reverse Scale Victory.29 -

This is totally a NSV, a scale victory is when the scale goes down. To have the scale go up and it not derail you is an awesome NSV.25 -
-I'm going into week 9 of healthy living...my longest stretch yet!
-I was able to run around Six Flags with 2 of my sons and I wasn't out of breath!
-I'm starting to see muscles pop out of places that used to be smooth and fluffy!
-I've been pushing pass any excuses that would have halted my progress in the past effortlessly!
-I feel SO DAMN GOOD!!!32 -
I tried to wear an xxl skirt and shirt together. After looking in the mirror I had to change to an xl shirt because I looked like a little girl wearing my mom's clothes.27

@sarahthes - When did you start your C25K? Was it after you lost some of your weight or did you just go ahead and do it? Wondering because I'm interested in it.
I guess I was just above 200 lbs when I started and 195 lbs now (had a vacation in there that set me back a bit LOL). So I'm definitely still obese. I just went ahead and did it, but once I was sure it was something I was going to stick with I went to a running store and got fitted for proper shoes. I would suggest that to anyone just starting out. Also, I'm very slow. Very very slow. Going slow and not pushing too fast along with wearing proper shoes is how you avoid injury.
Excellent advice! I was 255 when I did C25K. Fitness has no weight limits.13
