  • I suffer from an autoimmune disorder (AS) and have lost weight with the support of these boards and calorie counting. I look and feel ten years younger than I did a couple of years ago. I also don't think juicing is sustainable - but I applaud you for giving it a go. The first step is to want to change then do something.…
  • I'm also here after losing weight last year (about 30lbs in 3 months so a similar rate to you). I felt great, so don't know why I let things slip. I put back on half, and I'm now here trying to get it back off. I've gone back to 30 day shred (every other day) , because it worked wonders on my flabby tummy last time :-)
  • Of course you can. You just need a really good reason (mine is to stay alive to see my kids, and one day grandkids grow up). I've started keeping a 'fat' photo on my full length mirror to remind me daily what I don't want to be like. Just work out your motivation and remind yourself of it daily. Good luck x
  • I don't log chewing gum or low calories squash (6 cals per glass), but I do log tea as I get through 6-8 cups per day and those little splashes of milk add up. I log the green leafy veg to hit my macro targets. I wouldn't log something I took from my kids plate if it was a 'good' food like tomato or sweet pepper, but I…
  • Thanks everyone for your help :-)
  • What is Mexican rice? It sounds yummy!
  • You look fantastic - well done . Inspirational :-)
  • This isn't going to work long term unless he wants to change (my husband gave up completely 8 years ago, but he didn't have an addiction as such, I just found him irritating when drunk - so he stopped) it will be very difficult for him if he decides to do it, and he'll need support. But you need to do what's best for you.…
  • Thanks for the reply. It's my birthday today, and my lovely husband has just told me I'll be getting a home gym system delivered tomorrow - that should make things easier :-)
  • If you can stick to that calorie level that's great - if not don't be afraid to up it a bit. Better to find something you can stick to long term, and lose slowly - than initially lose loads, but not be able to keep it up (and feel bad when you give up). My level is set to 1200 and mostly I can stick to that, but I…
  • For every person who tells you you really should eat breakfast, there will be someone else who tells you you don't need to! The bottom line is - if eating breakfast works for you - go for it. If it doesn't, then don't worry - just do what works. I too get super hungry after eating in the morning, and I eat too much. I'm…
  • Well done - you look great, but more importantly you've probably added years to your life (and good quality ones too) It would be interesting to know your plan for going forward from here - will you keep logging / weighing regularly? Edited to add: Just notice you replied about your plans while I was typing :-)
  • Feel free to add me too. Well done for making a start - I'm finding it easier the further along I get. My new eating habits are beginning to stick, and exercise is more enjoyable the lighter I get :-)
  • Feel free to add me too, I've been here three months or so, but log in several times a day. You must be so excited to be so close to your goal. Will you keep logging when you get there?
  • I'm doing the 30 day shred and love it - the first two or three days I found quite tough (with 0.5kg weights), but I quickly improved my stamina. I've had to take 5 seconds out a few times but try not to. After a while I got a feel for how long there is left for each section which helps me push through the discomfort. I…
  • You look great - well done. What's more important - you look happier too :-)
  • Thanks all - I think that's what it must be (especially to have a low figure on a day that I was eating food supposed to be rich in potassium). I'll double check all my entries from now on. Thank you for taking the time to reply - much appreciated :-)
  • Thanks guys for the reasurrance - I'll carry on doing what I'm doing for now, and see how it goes.
  • Thanks for that - those links are really useful :-)
