  • My starting weight is 263, my current weight is 259.2, and my goal is 170ish? Still haven't decided. I struggle with losing weight, normally within a couple weeks to a month I give up - gain all the weight back and then some. How I so wish I kept at it when I was 200 pounds. I'm considering having weight loss surgery, but…
  • I know for diabetics they have 45 carb grams per meal for 3 meals and 15 carb grams per snack for 3 snacks a day. However, I've learned tat restricting your ugar intake, except gor fruit and veggies, will help you to 'flush' your system and stop cravings, if you crave pasta, grains, or sugar. I'm currently doing a 17 day…
  • I agree to a point. When I started I concentrated on one new thing for 2 weeks and then decided if I needed another week before adding something new. So, I started with giving up soda - I did this for 10 days, added C25K on week 1 for 2 weeks, then went 2 more weeks at week 2 and 3, then added strength training 3 days a…
  • You look great! Keep up the good work!
  • That is amazing! Are you doing anything besides calorie counting and exercise?

  • I began eliminating processed foods a few years ago and I can say most of what I eat at home is NOT processed, I began the journey due to my son's food allergy and took it further when I read JM book and began reading ingredients in my food. I have suffered migraines for years, and I can happily say I have not ad one in…
  • I can be like this. I've been changing my habits. Some of the things I did was look at what I can't control. For me it's ice cream, chocolate, and cookies. So, I purchase types that I don't like, but the boys do. Then if I'm really craving a cookie or ice cream, I go to DQ or bakery and buy one. Take it home to eat it,…
  • Im beginning the C25K program and I'm really enjoying it. If you are goal oriented set a goal for yourself. I'm very goal oriented and want to run a 5K. I found a 5K that is a couple of weeks after I finish the program and is for a charity I support, Autism Speaks. This is motivating to me, double fold. 5K is something I…

  • Anything Bon Jovi!
  • I wasn't losing either a few months ago and I asked a friend who was a nutrionalist and she said I was exercising too much! I thought, what!? But I was exercising half of what I was consuming or more and she said that it can slow or even stop weight loss. She recommended no more than 60 minutes unless it was an activity…
  • That's great!
  • Way to go! I'm in second week of week 1 and plan to run a 5K end of July beginning of August! Keep up the good work.

  • I have started doing this. I want to Compare how my food measures up, as well as be grateful it's not me anymore. I do buy a few unhealthy choices, but quick lunches/dinners for babysitters or if I have a migraine (quick and easy to fix), however, most of my cart is loaded with lean meats, fresh and fozen fruits/vegetables…
  • I researched it awhile back and found several reports. The one that stuck out to me (I will try to find link later today) said it was a poor fiber filler and suggested if you wanted to try something similar to sprinkle ground flax seed (available in the baking aisle) would be a better choice of fiber and ALOT cheaper.

  • Eliminate sugars, except raw fruits are allowed 2-3 times per day. This can help to lose weight, but caution it is hard. If you do it, you will have to slowly adjust your sugar intake or you will gain weight back.
  • If you are just starting I would recommend Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. It is circuit training with 3 minutes on strength, 2 minutes of cardio, and 1 minute of abs and repeat for 3 sets. I have noticed a definite definment of arm muscles within a few weeks. I've never finished the 30 days :( however think this may help…
  • I feel like I'm a horrible runner, however I'm doing it. I began the C25K program this week and the first day I thought I was going to die. The 2nd run (3rd day) was rough, my body ached, both from previous run and doing a lot of full day yard work, and was hard to finish, but I did! Today is a rest day, but I'm thinking I…

  • You could try eliminating all sugar (except raw fruit - limit to no more than 3 day). This helped me to get a jump start, however, it can be done long term, but it is difficult. I did it for 3 days then restricted sugars to 45 grams/ meal, and 2-3 snacks with no more than 15 grams of sugar. Be aware This eliminates most…

  • WOW, you look great. Congrats!
  • There is all kinds of things to put in them. Your favorite lean meat cute into small pieces, top with lettuce (any type, but spinach is really good in them), small amount of cheese, and depending on meat a little sauce (BBQ, ranch, mustard, mayo). Nothing should be off limits, all in moderation. I've found adding a…
  • That looks good!
  • I found eliminating sugars drops weight fast. No processed foods, no sodas, etc. you can eat vegetables and raw fruits, however, no cooked fruits.
  • Yesterday I mixed two eggs, fresh cut spinach, a sprinkle of shredded cheese and my favorite spices beat together and baked in the oven at 375 and they were delicious!
