Great job! I am also doing intermittent fasting. It feels mighty nice. Not like 'dieting' at all, but something I can do indefinitely. You're so right about getting fit being the easiest hard thing you'll do. I only wish fear hadn't stopped me doing it long ago.

Well, Maria is dancing around in a dress shop in my head now, because it doesn't take much to get a song stuck there. But I have to say, great job! Similar stats here so it's nice to see your story. I'm 66lbs down from my high weight and still trucking on, slowly but surely. Congratulations to you!

Great job there! I bet you feel it, too. I've lost 60lbs and feel so much better for it. Still have a ways to go myself, but now I have true empathy for just how wonderful it feels. Congrats!

Ugh. So true with the 'have your food ready' because last night I ended my fast at 5:00 and while cooking I was listening to my Glass Animals cd. As soon as he started singing about "peanut butter vibe", it took all my will power to stay on track and not grab a spoonful (or more!) of peanut butter while I was cooking.…

I do intermittent fasting as well. I've lost 56lbs and half that was doing IF. It's intuitive for me and I like how easy it has been. Congratulations!

Fantastic! May I ask how long you've been at this? I have been trekking along for a year, with a setback during the fall from illness, and have lost 55lbs doing an average of 1350 calories a day before exercise, netting at about 1030 per day after exercise. I'm always trying to tweak my 'program' to keep consistent weight…

I have 2 cute coats that are snug right now. So my min-goal is to fit into them before we run out of cold weather.

You look lovely. And happy. And younger, too - bonus, right? Great work!

I think it's nice that people asked if you were okay or had been sick. In the past I had an ED and lost so much weight I wouldn't let people hug me so I could keep it my little secret. If one person had asked if I were okay, maybe I could have recovered sooner. I'm glad you lost weight the healthy way and get positive…

Or Amaretto! Now you've got me craving cold winter mornings, because that is a favorite treat when it is bitter out!

I used to drink a couple lattes a day a few years ago. Then I switched to a coffee with cream in the AM and the occasional Americano with cream. It's really amazing how many calories that cut out - just the tiny switch. I could never give it up altogether, so it definitely gets calculated and recorded. The only…

CICO all the way, for me. Free. <3

I have so many little health issues that make having an alcoholic bev a real treat. (Mental list: No migraine? Check. No fibro meds? Check. No CFS this week? Check. Calorie space for it? Check!) Gosh darnit, I'm gonna have one when the opportunity presents and record the heck outta that thing!

Aaaaand I'm still laughing. :)

Great job! Very, very happy for you on two levels: losing weight/ weight lifting - you look happy and awesome - AND becoming your own advocate with your doctors. I did the 'blind faith' thing, too and suffered for years from things being prescribed. Finally, I started doing my own research and found a lovely Doc who…

Good job!

Learning to eat well is like learning to ride a bike - or any skill. A lot of us want to hop right onto a new program and take off, but we really need to learn balance first. Start slowly if you need to, allow yourself to have setbacks without giving up, and keep moving forward even when progress may feel slower than you…

It used to be that it took a long time for vegetables to be processed from field to table and so frozen was better. Now there are mobile packaging facilities that can literally have veg on the road to the store within hours of picking. If it is an out of season item, consider where it is being shipped from (i.e. Chile or…

I am impressed by all you folk. And at the same time a little intimidated. ;)

Welcome! Sounds like a great plan for being a 'winner' even if you don't get the cash prize that goes with it. ;)

I watched the news and didn't see an uptick in deaths from children dying from all the Halloween candy. Nothing yet...

I experience the same thing: the harder my work out, the lower my appetite. But I make sure the food that I eat is especially nutritious when that happens. No filling up on empty calories. I've found that keeps it from making me want to eat everything in the house the next day.

Ouch. Those are some nasty lacs, but considering how much worse it could have been...wow. Prepare for some freaky nightmares to hit you just when you think you're over it. Even when the body is healed, the mind likes to mess with you a bit. Glad you made it and get to tell the story!

Single malt is low carb and therefore healthy in my book. Even if it weren't low carb, life always looks a lil' better through the bottom of a glass of The Glenlivet. Just saying.

I want to bump this because I have been trying to add a jpeg photo to my profile pics and keep getting told it is an unrecognized format. Wha???? .jpeg, .jpg and .gif - all bomb out. File isn't too large, either. What gives? Frustrations abound.

Great job and very inspirational!! <3

My 24 hour challenge did a complete face-plant this month. Life just....Lucha Libre'd all my plans. Next month! I'll be back...

Mine wasn't 'a-ha' but 'ENOUGH!'. My closet was full of clothes that didn't fit, my feet and knees hurt if I stood for any amount of time, I didn't want to see my friends because they remember me from when I was thin, my shoes were starting to be too small. I just threw up my hands and yelled, "Enough! I'm done! This is…

When I struggle with fatigue, I have to avoid carbs or it makes it worse. So I try to broil up enough chicken for dinner that we can have leftovers. That way, if I am tired and peckish, I can grab the protein instead of carbs. Also, it helps to pre-measure out some smaller containers of fruit or veg and pop them in the…
