  • What I was told is that HRM have some trouble accurately measuring weight training. I use it because it is what I have but there are problems with the way your HR quickly rises and drops. In general I was told HRM are not perfect but are as accurate as you can get. I do not know about the curves thing at all, does it…
  • You need to go in and change your weight under goals, and then yes it will recalculate. If not it will stagnate.
  • I do exercise but I monitor it with a HRM and eat my my calories (yum yum). So it is accounted for there, my work is still sedentary
  • Cool, good to know. I have been on 1lb the whole time cause I was too hungry otherwise, but I was curious about the change over
  • It'll pass as you get used to the braces. Until then protein shakes, mashed potatoes and smoothies.
  • bump! I am right in the same range I am 24, my HR exercising 170-185 when I step on (before I exercise) I am right around 100. I hope its normal
  • Awesome. I really kicked my butt into gear after I got engaged in June. I am between 5'8" and 5'9" I started at 207lbs and I am shooting for somewhere between 150lb-160lbs. I am 19lbs away from 160lbs! You can totally do this!
  • The one that everyone (including me) loves is to buy a Heart Rate Monitor to measure all exercises. Beyond that I would say figure out how many mph you are going. I did that a couple of times and I know there are a couple a neat moves more than walking but it ends up being basically walking. Then enter it as walking 3.5mph…
  • Earn your weekends. That's what I do. Sometimes I can't log everything. Honestly I am a mid-20s female living in New York City. I am going to go out and drink on the weekends and with shots, beers and bombs I can't really count everything in a Saturday night. I do count everything right up until I hit the bar. I did a…
  • There could be so many reasons, open your diary. Give it some time, you may not be eating enough, your sodium could be too high, lots of reasons. No way to tell without more information.
  • Are you set on 2lbs a week? I found that was beyond what I could manage. I would get too hungry and binge. I had to set it for 1lb a week instead. Much more successful. Its all about finding what works for you.
  • They don't make you "gain" weight, they may increase hunger and make it more difficult to lose what. Do not just go off of your medication, you will have withdrawl symptoms, it could be dangerous, talk to your psychiatrist
  • I like Hummus for protein, I am not a vegetarian (anymore) but I really like it and it helps me with my protein
  • I would say talk to your psychiatrist about how you are trying to lose weight. My psychiatrist felt that unless the pills patently didn't work you should try to match the side effects with your trouble. I sleep and eat too much so I needed an anti-depressant that decreased apetite and made you sleep less as a likely…
  • I would check that it wasn't a mistake. My fiance has that he is still "looking for a relationship" on facebook right below where it says that his relationship status is that he is engaged to me, because he never bothered to change it. If it was intentional, yes it would bother me. But they may be listed because while they…
  • I have several guys on my friends list. So yes there are guys here, even if the majority are female (like me)
  • There is such a thing as water weight. When you up your liquid intake your body stops holding on to as much water and it can help you lose some weight. Frequently it is the reason why you lose more weight in the first week to week and a half of a diet change. Some of it could of been true weight loss, likely a good deal…
  • I am down to needing to lose 23lbs. I plan on doing it the same way I lost the first 24lbs. I will eat whatever I want, and portion control it. I eat white bread, white rice, and even pizza. I even go out drinking, I just kick my own *kitten* at the gym first. That is my plan, food scale is my friend, HRM is my friend,…
  • My thighs, I wanna cover them without accentuating them. They are large enough. In photos my arms always make me look large (thanks to my fiance I know this, staring at a picture...why do I look so heavy in this pic...he points, your arms *facepalm*) but I don't know how to shop and fix that.
  • What is so bad about wanting an extra bit of motivation. It is difficult to keep yourself accountable, every little bit helps. I like to know that I have been "being good" for 30 day, or 60 days. There are days that keeping my consective number is one of the main reasons I own up and log on. Now I lost my 150 streak cause…
  • I'll take a 6, the next person is pi=3.14
  • If it's not broke don't fix it. Also where did 1650 come from, did you set it to 2lbs a week and MFP pop out 1650? If it did you DO NOT need to lower it. I am a lot smaller than you and I am set on 1500 a day and I still lose 1lb a week. Since you a bigger you eating a comperable amount should lead to higher weight loss,…
  • As far as I know there is nothing bad about skim milk. I tend to drink 1% because I think its yummier. As to the "only drink water" stuff, chill out. There is no question that is milk is good for you, has protein, calcium and vitamins. Its not soda which is empty (albeit delicous) calories.

  • 1oz packages of cashews from planters 140 calories, healthy fats, yummy, and I don't overeat them because they are already portioned. I am not a big "diet food" person, I do normal foods in good sized portions.
  • This, though I will say it is NOT a good reason to not go on medication your doctor feels you need. I would say your doctor would know more than most people on this site.
  • Totally my problem. My clothing is comically too large. But I have never been smaller than a 12 (big hips even when I was 140lbs), I am a solid 14 right now and I just cannot bear to buy a bunch of 14s so I am just wearing comedic 16s. I can't get them tailored when they were $20 pants in the first place, its not worth it…
  • Try the whole thing SLOWER. You don't need to jog walk if it puts you in that much pain. Try walk, power walk! The endurance comes slowly, but injury is clearly not the plan. Did you consult a doctor before beginning?
  • My fiance may be the awful man, but he doesn't like heavy girls. When I put on 30lbs his sex drive dropped. When I railed on him about it he came out (very awkwardly) and explained as nicely as he could. I think as long as when he wants me to lose weight it would be medically advantagous, it seems fair enough. That being…
  • Welcome, this site is a great tool. Feel free to add me if you like ^_^
