Keto and IF
-
You could go keto to get fat adapted, and then you would be using ketones for your rides instead of glucose and wouldn't need to eat every three hours. If you're to thin to do keto, you could use exogenous ketones before the ride or during.
-
I have been doing keto and IF for four months. Lost 38 pounds. It works.
-
Keto and Atkins are NOT basically the same thing. In Atkins, you are still running off of glucose. On keto, you are running off ketones.
-
Keto does not put you at risk for diabetes. Diabetes comes from insulin resistance which isn't caused by ketones. It is caused by glucose.
-
I do keto and If, and have had success myself.
-
I was mainly concerned that I was wrong about how to calculate these things, and am glad to know OI wasn't blowing smoke outy butt when I was telling other people how to do it.
-
Your right, the first time I figured it, it was over three hundred off because the fat grams weren't accurate.
-
Yes, I believe that has to be it. I have often heard that the data base on here isn't alwaulys correct. I try to use the bar code scanner function as much as possible.
-
Stick with it for 60 days instead of just the 30, and you will be amazed at how much your body changes. I did it twice and lost 40 lbs. The second time around, you can vary it to keep from getting bored by doing each level for seven days, and then each level three days to make ten days on each level. Nothing changes too…

I've found other equations online too. Where did you find this one?
-
I know the distance is right, but the amount of calories in MFP data base is incorrect which is what spawned all this.
-
So, what I am certain of is that my green belt's walking path is a mile because it took me roughly the same amount of time to do it as a mile on the tread mill at the gym today. It did feel like my normal pace when I walked 2.1 mph according to the machine, but the machine also doubled the amount of calories I burned if he…

Yes the last two comments make great sense. I do walk on flat terrain, and I think the distance is correct because it is a path made for recreation and is marked. I just solved this database issue by going in and creating an exercise for myself since it takes me 25 minutes to walk that one mile and burn 55 calories…
-
I think I will also go to the gym this week, and see what the treadmill says about my pace and what I burn in a mile.
-
This certainly is good to know because at 180 lbs, the equation says I should burn 223 calories in four miles. MFP doubled that at 440, and several online sources also said I should have burned 100 calories each mile. I thought 100 calories in a mile was over estimated, but then of course MFP could have been figuring that…

Yes, I know both, but just enter the minutes I walk as opposed to the distance since its already there when I choose one. It has been so long since I have been on a treadmill that I can't remember how many calories I burn in two hours at any speed which is how long I usually walk every night, and that is between four and…

Hell ya it is. I will jump around each week playing with stuff under 1600 depending on how I feel that week. I really like doing that because I see a lot of progress doing that with walking.
-
I worked up from walking a mile in 45 minutes to doing it in 28, and now I can handle five miles a day without huffing and puffing. It took two months.
-
All pics are good. You are not unattractive in any of them.
-
Don't worry about it. Continue to eat at your goal whether it is to gain, maintain, or lose. No wonder you are burned out after going every day. If you're sick of the gym, then you are just sick of it. Screw the gym. Find something outside to do even if it is walking your local green belt and hiding painted rocks in your…

I've been eating at 1200 which is 1.5 lbs loss, and I've eaten at one pound loss and 2 lbs loss for a week in the past five weeks. I Change it up according to how I feel.
-
I agree with so many of the posts above. I've lost almost 25 lbs in less than three months by only walking every day and cutting calories. Some weeks I cut to a pound a week, others 1.5 and others two. I choose according to how empowered I feel that week. I've been eating almost the same things at the same times of day…

Boiled eggs with the creamy fatty yoke kills my cravings when I eat them the same time every day.
-
Add nuts, olive oil, avocade, peanut butter, ground flax seed and protein powder to your foods you already eat and it will add up fast.
-
Whole boiled eggs seems to kill cravings for me. I think it is the creamy fatty yoke.
-
Add olive oil, peanut butter, ground flax seed and avocado, and it will add up Hella fast.

Eat at 1200 while you can. Then, go a little higher for a week, and see how you feel. Do 1600 for a week if that helps satisfy you, and then adjust your intake to lower calories as you feel it is time. As long as you are still eating at a defecit, you are winning and in control.

Ya, me too. I eat a lunchables with a piece of candy at least once a day. I eat a yogurt with high fructose corn syrup for breakfast a lot. I eat boiled eggs with their fatty yoke, I eat whatever, but I eat small portions and keep it between 1200 and 1600 max. I also only walk a couple hours every night mostly because I…
