Joining late, but I can't resist this challenge. LNS is the bane of my life. I'm going to count LNS as any food consumed past 9.30, except on Thursdays (late home) where I'll shift that to 10. Starting from today: Me: 1* LNS: 0

I don't read them myself, but my little sister is absolutely addicted and I am her main dealer :) so here are her top recommendations as rated by squee: - anything by Cassandra Clare (she loves the Mortal Instruments best) - anything by Maggie Stiefvater (but so far her favourites are the Raven Boy series) - Lunar…

Hi, I'm happy to offer my services as a mentor, especially to someone who is new and unsure about where to start at all, or coming from a place where exercise isn't yet their key goal. I'm not done with my own journey (lost from 208 lbs to 150 lbs, in the process currently of losing 15 more lbs) but I have a lot of help to…

Sent a join request, looking forward to getting fit and hot for summer!

I am always amazed at how much chicken breast you can eat and feel full for so comparatively few calories. It's genuinely amazing.

Lost 55 pounds since I joined MFP last June - I was 200 when I started, currently 145 at the height of 5'5 (and a half). Aim to lose 15 more.

OP there's some good advice in here, especially from astrose00. I honestly would break up with her (for the love of god, don't say it's because of her weight/fitness whatever because that would be seriously harsh) on the grounds that you see the two of you going in different directions. You've got to take two things into…

I think it's possible but unlikely, unless weight comes easily off your stomach. I'm an inch shorter than you and currently at 142 lbs with a waist of 28 and a half inches. If you're naturally an hourglass at all sizes then it definitely seems more possible! I suspect you'd want to be hitting 130 before seeing that sort of…

Thanks Cherirana! Losing weight more slowly than at the beginning sucks but it's better to be slow than stop I guess. Also, thanks brightsideofpink for your work - appreciated!

1 pound down from 149 to 148. Slowly but surely. At this rate I'll still hit my original goal by Christmas.

My weightloss (51 pounds) has come mostly from diet. I go to the gym pretty regularly and try to walk when I can but my calorie burn is never very high because I'm just not very good at exercise. I view my exercise as being good for me on a health level rather than especially conducive to weightloss.

I've genuinely only ever met one woman who felt like this - and she was a deeply conservative Christian. I'm going to guess the OP probably doesn't have that many lady friends - I don't know how she'd squeeze them into her schedule given that apparently she and her husband do every single thing in their lives together.
-
Too bad. Stepford wives don't get to demand anything. They don't get to make their husbands unhappy by going against their decisions. Do you even know where the phrase 'Stepford wife' comes from? Do yourself a favour and read a book some time. And uh your husband doesn't respect you if he doesn't want you to be capable of…

Okay the scales are claiming I've lost 5.7lbs this week (down to 148.3). I'm not sure I believe them. Going to log the weight, find a different pair of scales tomorrow and see what they say then maybe modify it!

You didn't engage with a single one of my posts. I used no memes, I wasn't rude to you, I pointed out that you were wrong. You keep saying you just want to help people who aren't getting anywhere, but you're not helping them because you're wrong about what you're saying.
-
So your sample size is...one. You. Also if you're not looking for a debate don't post on the internet about something you don't know anything about. And I'm not going to be mean but if your reply to the request for citation is 'well I don't have any bar personal anecdote' then you really can't expect people to take you…

Sure thing! Initial Weight: (9th June 2014) 200 lbs (14 stone 4lbs) Today's weight: 154 lbs (11 stone) though possibly a little less - weigh in isn't until tomorrow! I've lost 46lbs so far, and my goal weight was originally 140 by Christmas Day but I'm re-imaging that to 135 (so technically lose 19 lbds by Christmas - even…

High amounts of protein have some role to play in maintaining muscle mass as you drop weight - meaning you lose more fat. However 120g is a lot of protein unless you are lifting weights on a regular basis - I consider my protein intake relatively high at 90-100g. What % do you have your macros set to? There's a point where…

These are not academic articles. Also none of them actually back up what you're saying. Let me break it down for you. People eat carbs - yay calories \o/ They eat too many carbs :( :( and gain weight They eat fewer carbs that don't give them enough calories to maintain their body as is. The body eats the carbs it does get…

I follow a low-carb diet but this is the silliest thing I've heard in ages. Also heads up for the future - when you phrase things like ' I am finding it interesting that as soon as we started farming fruits and stuff, we started contracting all these weird diseases' the words 'and stuff' immediately invalidate it. Also you…

Eat more meat, cook with oil, eat egg-whites, fish. There are tons of delicious tasty options out there - google low-carb recipes for ingredient ideas!

I agree with everyone else. You're clearly not ready to lose the weight. You're being presented with the easiest of options - eat just a little less, make some healthier choices, do some moderate exercise, and you don't want to do any of them. That's kind of a clue that cake/drink/free time means more to you right now than…

- Chicken. So amazing for protein, relatively few calories, delicious and versatile. I could write an ode to the humble chicken. - Spices - give what could be plain and simple food a lovely kick of flavour. - Mizuno Wave Inspire shoes for the gym. Didn't understand what a good pair of shoes could do before! - diet coke.…

We have about the same weightloss goal I think. I'm currently at 3 stone 4lbs lost and I've lost at least one bandsize (possibly two but I need to remeasure myself to check that out) and I've lost a bit of boob - but not a huge amount. Went from a 36H to 34H, but beginning to suspect I'm closer to a 32G or possibly 32H. I…

SW: 175.6 LW: 154.5 CW: 154 Only lost .5 lb :/ smallest loss since I began. Just goes to show that if you have one day of eating really badly it can wipe out that weeks deficit.

You have to count calories I'm afraid! If you eat the same as you burn then you won't lose weight. Low carb is a way to get your body burning fat more efficiently as fuel and also a way to satiate yourself with less food, but on it's own it'll do nothing - calories in calories out is key, not the carbs.
