On my quest to find the right way to live I found this article, which I think is very helpful. I wanted to share It always helps to look at people, who are successful : "Here, weight loss experts explore the mysterious minds of "naturally" slim, and how to eat like skinny women. Learn what they do, what they don't, and how…

Sounds so familiar. I love biking, but I also would like to participate in a triathlon. Ironman 70.3 is on this weekend, where I live. But I am not good at running and would make a fool of myself trying to. Last month I tried to run a little bit and immediately my knee started hurting, while I can bike hundreds of miles…

I did not meet my goal in September. I am in again for October. My goal is to run a 5K. But I have to start with walking. I tried to alternate walking and running last month, but I am so bad at running that I hurt my knee and now I have to rest first before I can walk again. Anybody with any advice?

I am iin again. Finally it is cooler in the desert and I hope that this month I will be able to work on my speed. I have no problem with distance. So I am setting my goal this month to improve my average speed, which is only at 13.5 miles per hour at the moment.

It is always easy to lose at the beginning. The secret is to find a way to continue and not to give up because of setbacks. I found this article from prevention magazine, which I find true for me. I think it applies to men too, though it is written for women: "Here, weight loss experts explore the mysterious minds of…

This was a real challenge for me. I did not quite make it. Mainly because it was still too hot in September and I just do not like to walk when it is so hot. I hope, October will be cooler and I can start to train seriously for my first 5K.

Target was 750 miles and I went a little bit over, but less than in August, mostly because I was trying to meet a walking challenge too. I enjoy biking much more. Next month I will go for speed.

One thing I would suggest if you try this, is to make sure you continue to log your food, even if you aren't focusing on staying within a certain calorie goal. The reason being, the more you work out, the hungrier you will be, and the more you will eat. If you aren't paying attention to how much more that is, you might not…

Just saw that in the news, scary, scary, scary. Who does not get a bigger waistline? Women who gain weight around the waist and whose skirt sizes therefore increase between their 20s and 60s may be at higher risk of breast cancer after menopause, a new study from the United Kingdom suggests. The study, which looked at more…

Just wanted to say hello. As the days are finally a little bit cooler, I spend all my day outside. Biking, gardening and sculpting. Soon the days will be so short, that I cannot get much done outside, so autumn and spring is my time outdoors. So not much computer time for me at the moment. Hope everybody is getting better,…

I am not doing very well, I tried run/jog but my legs were hurting so much that I had to take a few days off. I could still bike though. That walking challenge turns out to be a real challenge for me. url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/exercise/wEOYnKt/] [/url]

Good evening, back from the Oktoberfest, I survived the drinking, the singing, the eating and the noise. I had fun. I was even tempted to break out in song too, but then I decided that everybody had too much fun and I should not spoil it. I cannot hold a tune. Sylvia I cannot believe the 400 Dollar they wanted to charge…

Heather, partying in Majorca is fun, period. You do not need an Oktoberfest. Miss it. I went to that Gospel service, it is a little bit touristy, but still interesting. Well, I took whole tour groups there myself. Be careful with the taxis at the airport. Most people have their first negative experience in New York, being…

Happy Oktoberfest Sunday to everybody,:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: I am not a beer drinker, but I like the tradition of the Oktoberfest, I lived for a few years in Munich and like everybody else I had my favorite tent and food there. I even owned a beautiful dirndl, which I got rid off somewhere along the line when living…

I am the same height, but much older and weigh 128 pounds. My BMR is about 1000 calories and I try to eat that. I am also very active. You should really not worry about eating not enough, your body has enough resources to fall back on. There is no chance that you will starve. The first thing you have to find out is which…

SingingSingle Happy Birthday to you, drink a lot of beer, you certainly deserve it. OhHim Dogs off the leash is one frustrating problem as a cyclist, the other one is that there are so many thieves. I never leave my road bike out of my sight, since I got my bike stolen last year while I was on a short break. The bike was…

Kim I am sorry I am not good with describing recipes. You have to heat the milk first up to boiling point and then let it cool down to 130 before you mix in the Yogurt. Anne

Singingsingle Thanks for reminding me that the Oktoberfest starts tomorrow. I guess I will not make it to Munich. The Hofbrauhaus in Vegas will have to do. Lifting Steins is good exercise. Happy Birthday.
