  • So true! Kale, spinach and chard also go nicely. Protein powder, a little ice, some cocoa powder unsweetened if you are in the mood, frozen fruit, half a banana, ice cubes. It's delish, the texture of soft serve ice cream, and mine comes out about 330 calories for 16+ ounces of yum.
  • I hear some positives - you like several steamed green vegetables, you prefer plainer food so less fancy, calorie laden, cooking-intensive meals. If you get bored in the kitchen, play music, listen to an audiobook, or play a game or browse MFP forums while you wait for the timer or the boil or whatever. You're not doing…
  • Belly, thighs, chin. HUGE difference. Give yourself a giant hug and keep on going! You got this, and I so respect your progress.
  • Have a Charge 2 for the past 1.5 years. When I set my activity level as sedentary on MFP (very important), log calories on MFP accurately, sync my Charge 2 and eat back many but not necessarily all of the calories I get from that, I do lose or maintain at about the rate I would expect.
  • Headed out for a run a couple of weeks ago. Love my furry workout buddy!
  • If you're breast feeding, you will want to check first with your health care team about anything that affects you nutritionally, right? That said, all weight loss works by creating a calorie deficit in your body. Some people find special rules/guidelines like intermittent fasting, keto, being vegan, eating no added sugar,…
  • Right with you except sugar-wish is triggered by "MAN I AM STRESSED" or "I DON'T WANNA BE HERE ANYMORE HELP!", rather than boredom. Sometimes herb tea. Or I walk around a little, quick break helps a lot. I just try not to walk near the leftover sweets or the deli :grimace:
  • I totally hear you, good for you and take good care of yourself. You DO deserve better!
  • My dog loves rough and tumble play. I put on something that can get totally furry and sit down on the floor with a tug-toy. She does the rest and makes me laugh at the same time, which helps with the stress SO MUCH. Sometimes I just have to find my most significant of others, say "just venting", and let it out, unfiltered…
  • Stepping on that scale again = hard! You already did that - honesty, self-disclosure, and you shared your results here. So that's the first hard step! I am a loser and regainer too, and as you see many others here understand your feelings. You can do this! I am trying to get back in touch with what worked for me before,…
  • Sitting out this round friends, I am logging and doing well, it's just a time management thing.

  • Read this My Fitness Pal blog from the very first entry. She is a wonderful writer with an honest, inspiring story. https://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/The_Movie_Chair/
  • This too. It's actually not "clean" that matters for loss, it's deficit. One underestimated (or in my case, blush, sometimes UNRECORDED) cheat day a week can very easily erase my 6 days of 250-cal/day deficit.
  • I agree with the above. The closer to goal, the game changes. Cheats matter a LOT more, adherence matters more, the difference between a large and a medium fruit matters more, and watching the trend or rolling average instead of each day's weight matters more.
  • @rheddmobile hugs your way, I too have had to reset my goal to .5 down as I had about 8 to give up over my weight where I was happiest in maintenance. It was pretty hard at first and only the past week have I been able to get any consistency going. Right here with you. Also hear you about the veg - we are on a challenge at…

  • I'm still rumbling around between 133 and 135 and plan to post my chart again in a week, since that will be exactly one month. Hopefully that will give me some added incentive to stay under my calorie goal. Did manage a run a couple of days ago, the dog now loves me: coming back is hard, had some sore spots.
  • We grow spaghetti squash; IMO can get away with tomato sauce IF it's cut with a little lemon (I canned my tomatoes with lemon) and has some shrimp cooked in the sauce and draped over the top. But of course I like anything with shrimp on it. Other favorite way, with pesto, sundried tomato, and pumpkin seeds. Can't wait to…

  • Sounds like you have a plan! My only tip is, you will not lose weight unless you eat fewer calories than you burn. We can overeat calories on keto, on a balanced diet, on a vegan diet, or with any other way of eating, so it pays to log accurately. And patience pays off too - once you are eating at a calorie deficit, loss…
