No, I don't mind at all! I'm hoping my story will help to encourage and motivate others, and to help them realize that if I can lose the weight, so can they :)

LinDiSm2626- If there is anything I can do to help, let me know :) You ARE right- all things are possible through God!

I like how you're taking it all in increments. Starting to make healthy changes in baby-steps is the best way to go! Let me know how I can help you- whether it's nutritional or workout advice :) I actually blogged today about making healthy changes in steps, check it out, you might find what I have to say helpful:…

^ THIS ^ IIFYM has saved my rear sooo many times! It's flexible dieting, where you can eat just about anything you want as long as it fits within your macros- your daily allotment for carbs, fats, and proteins. I don't follow it religiously and to a T, but I use this method as a guidepost for all my eating now. I enjoy…

Let's look at the science. If you were to actually GAIN 8 pounds, you would have had to have consumed 28,000 calories MORE than you expended. Which, given your weight, I seriously doubt that happened. I've been in marathon mode the last several months, and I probably consumed that many calories period in a week and a half…

After posting my MFP success story on the forums, a member suggested I "adopt a noob". I thought they were playing, until I saw this thread. With that being said, I will throw my hat in the ring as well to be a mentor. I've been on MFP for nearly 2 years. When I first joined, I weighed 461.2 pounds. In my first 18 months,…

You're making me blush! LOL

My knee injury was about 10 years ago, so time helped out. The surgeon worked miracles, and the physical therapist worked wonders. Surprisingly, my knee held up much better than it should have under my weight at my heaviest, but it's so much better now that I've lost it. When I did start running, I started out slowly. I…

Thank you Candi_land! I lost 200 pounds in my first 12 months, but it took 6 more months for me to lose the last 35. Those were the hardest to lose for me. It might slow down but you gotta keep pushing forward and never give up! You'll reach that GW!

My wife had lost around 50 pounds in the last 2 years, but she has put some back on. We've talked at length about it, and I've tried hard not to push her into doing something she wasn't ready or willing to do (that route has backfired several times). She's nowhere near as public with her life as I am mine, but she is…

Thank you all so much for the encouragement! Being a part of the MFP community has helped me sooo much, especially all those times where I felt like quitting. Thank you all for being there, the support I receive on here is overwhelming at times!

I totally understand! One of my weirdest NSVs was being able to see my collarbones clearly defined. Everytime I look in the mirror, I check em out and think, "Man, they look good!!" LOL

How often are you eating? How long have you been eating 1200 calories/day? What kinds of food are you eating to stay within your limit? When I first started living healthier, my doctor suggested an 800-1000 calorie diet, but I did 1200. I lost weight but I had to remember to eat very regularly (every 2-3 hours). If you're…

Which one are you doing? I'm doing the Rock 'n' Roll half in Dallas, and I think that one is in 3 weeks.

Thanks for the kind words guys! MFP has been a HUGE part of my lifestyle change!

Stay focused on the long-term (your first 5K) and fight through all the short-term struggles. I started the Couch to 5K last July and thought I was going to die most days, but over time it got easier. It's one step at a time, one day at a time. Keep moving however slowly you need to now because in time you will build on…

461.2 when I started 3/22/12...270.0 as of today's weigh-in :) It's a lifestyle change that has SOOOOO been worth all the hard work!

I have a cheat meal every week, but the one food I have not had in the last 11 months I've been losing weight has been fried chicken. I keep telling myself one of my cheat meals I'll eat some, but I always find I have a different craving that day. I'll probably indulge in some deep-fried goodness from Chicken Express when…
