I think you can definitely PR. Mileage is good, and the speed is there.
-
Takes longer to get back in shape, not as fast, but maybe I can get there, still have hope. ha ha.

The notifications are on the newsfeed today! progress! Yay. and embedded links are working too - definitely progress today!

:# right now, but it may be good once it is figured out.
-
I don't see the notify setting, how do I get there?
-
finally found this thread. OMG
-
Thanks Dave for putting the sheet up! It helps a lot to see everyone running, and progressing!

I'm in! September threw me for a loop and hope to improve on that! I am going to try for the same as September  150! I just have to get there! looking forward to the coolness :glasses:

UGH. I was too optimistic, I ran hard for a half this month (and PR'd), but underestimated the recovery for the race. Not sure why it is taking so long, but it just is. Still running, but not as much as I would like. I have delayed my (real) BQ attempt so that I have more time to prepare. Still will try earlier, but not…

Half marathon PR 1:45s, struggled the last 3 miles with my head, and confidence - but glad it is getting better finally! Baby steps. :drinker: 3 minute PR. 9th age group female out of 109.

This looks like a good plan, long run and goal distance on Sunday. If you are bored, perhaps consider listening to a book, or music?
-
Good find, I get more productive when I run, so I 'extend' my day.

I am in! Of-course! I can't decide on my mileage. I am going to go for 150, I hope. Doing a 12 week Achilles treatment program, first week complete tomorrow, and it is responding. YAY. :drinker: OK to run, but need to be careful. but that is so much better than no running
-
I will make my goal (I think), but my left Achilles is acting up again. GRRR. :grumble: Started a 12 week aggressive treatment earlier this week. Which worked last time, so I am optimistic. I can still run , but have to avoid uphills and aggressive speed work (which I love   ). I am very happy with my…

Wow hat is IMPRESSIVE! 2nd place! wow and a 50K whohoooo! Congrats! Also, Congrats on your earlier 5K PR - you are on a roll!
-
Crossing fingers!!! Congrats on overall, and speedy time!
-
You may be able to do it under 4 hours.
-
My experience with the shuffle is that is lasts for about 4 1/2 hours on continuous play, (it says 14 hours on the apple site not sure how! > scratching head < ), as they age, they degrade. On longer races, I have two shuffles, and that works well for me

Hi Dave, Ouch on the Steamboat high altitude recap, now I am even more worried about my September attempt. OMG!
-
Yes, that is an issue, it starts at 8,135 ft! I have issues when I am above 5,000 feet, and my 1st BQ attempt will be in September and that one also starts at 8K+ ft, and I am close to sea level, so yes it worries me. I will definitely need a backup. When I suggested it I considered that Kavery is probably at altitude…

Great advice so far, yes, I heard that CIM is great, if I lived on the west cost I too would like to do that one, one day! Phoenix Marathon, in March is supposed to be awesome, I am considering this one myself as a backup. In Colorado, I believe Steamboat, in June (downhill) is a pretty good qualifier... but maybe that is…

1) I wear Asics socks (it has a thicker part above your heel that sticks up, outside your shoes so it doesn't sag down, and I sometimes wear Balega, but they are a bit hot, so better for winter. 2) I wear a garmin, I love technology and analyzing my runs. It motivates me. 3) I fuel before long runs longer than 13 miles.…

The 3Ss: Sushi, Sashimi, and Saki (OK, and not too much of the latter).
-
100 miles for me. I will need to run earlier b/c it is so hot (and I said that last month)!
-
Congrats! And that is a great time, and wow under those conditions. I melt above 84 degress, ha ha.
-
I did 1,800 per month, and I lost 30 lbs. It took 6 months. That was in 2011 - and I have kept it off (allowing for oscillating 5 lbs up and down). I am 50 right now (so 47 when I lost the 30 lbs). My primary exercise during the time was a treadmill, running and the ARC. An 40 minutes to an hour and a half each time. I…

"I agree" with 80% of the comments, specifically, I agree that batman is a great addition to this thread. Good to understant the shrinkage factor of my friend list, I will try to improve!
-
Yeah I had that happen. Thought it was a bit weird, when I heard it. (much younger runner).

I do appreciate the encouragement, and I need it  :flowerforyou: since I am in a slow phase right now, it is low risk that I will offend anyone  but when I do, I'll try to return the favor while being careful to spot the people who does not need it. Good thread!
