  • I have done p90x barefoot (all 90 days) and am now doing 30 Day Shred barefoot- agreed with the other posts- it actually makes my feet hurt less! Plus many times running shoes don't have the correct support system for workouts such as insanity (with more lateral movements) and are designed for the stride of running, so…
  • this is what I've found in my reading too, and it does fit with my personal experience in becoming more fit!
  • this sounds like a yummy low cal sweet fix, i love that!
  • But don't forget that tea and coffee (and many sodas) have caffeine in them, which does have a dehydrating effect! Try caffeine free teas and sodas if that is the route you so choose. (I personally am a huge advocate for drinking lots of water, but I'm not here to preach, just to offer some advice!)
  • The Girl Scouts now have an option where you can buy cookies to be sent to our military men and woman, thats always a nice option!
  • I went off BC three years ago and I've never been happier (and no, I did not get pregnant!) you just have to commit to using other reliable forms of BC (hello condoms!). My body has synced with itself, and it feels amazing to have my own hormones running the show. I personally enjoyed the decision. Weight gain wise- BC or…
  • I am so glad I'm no the only one! Laundry costs money, and jeans fit better for me once I break 'em in a little.
  • Do: -be honest with what you're eating - stay positive and realize this is a lifestyle change not a short term fix -use the support from fellow MFPers! :) Don't : -punish yourself if you slip up or really want that cupcake- it'll only make you feel worse! -starve yourself
  • I love my body today because it just did 17 minutes of circuit training!
  • have a small snack- something sweet but light- sorbet, fruit, something like that! then maybe do 10 minutes of arm punches (just punching your arms forward rapidly), it'll give you a little fitness boost and you'll also get your sweet craving out of the way!
  • i had a huge dinner tonight hadn't fit in a workout yet- i just did dance aerobics for an hour and i feel SO much better about myself- so just my suggestion- get those endorphins and squeeze in a little workout :)
  • Like previously stated- medication can change the effectiveness/functionality of the pill- it should return to normal after you are finished with the medication. Just don't forget to use a backup if you are using the pill for its birth control effects!
  • That sounds like a great goal!! I'd love to join you in that goal, 135lbs is in a healthy range for me and my overall end goal in my weight loss. Friend me if you'd like, I love supporting fellow MFPer's!
  • I am completely on the same page as you! I find I do one of two things- if I'm out I pour ketchup on everything (I don't really like ketchup so it makes things unappetizing) and then I know I'm done. If it is a really good meal I made at home that I know I'll eat more of later I will wrap it and put it in the back of the…
  • I recerntly fell in love with my magic bullet mini blender as well!! If anyone has suggestions for a non flavored protein powder that'd be great, I love fruit smoothies but don't like vanilla and am not very into adding chocolate to the smoothies. thanks!
  • I semi-followed slimfast and did lose about 3 lbs in 2 weeks. it was also a terrible experience, my energy was low, I was hungry very often, and I felt strong urges to splurge at dinner because their bars/shakes are limited.
  • Great job!

  • Losing 1lb a day is, as everyone has pointed out, unhealthy and not maintainable. The 1lb a week calculates a slow and steady loss that will prevent your metabolism from slowing and also help you to not starve yourself and end up binging. If you are eating below 1200 calories a day this will work for a little while, but in…
  • I've been slacking on this lately (away for the weekend) and yesterday I got my hours cut back at work so I was definitely depressed about that- not to mention looking for a second job. I've still been counting my calories, but I ended up job searching all night and didn't go to the gym like I should have. Definitely going…
  • When I was in highschool everyone was going to a local hair salon to get their hair cut, and I wanted to join in. I told the woman to angle it so that it was shorter in the front, longer in the back, nothing dramatic. When I looked in the mirror to my horror she had done the opposite! I cried and cried, and went to my…
  • Lost one pound since my last weigh in! And under my calorie goal for today :) Thank you all for doing this group and helping me to focus!
  • I like that "sweat is my drug" ! hahahaha, its funny. But I think "Fit in the Sun" Or "Tone for the Sun" more aptly describes what we all seem to be doing here. Still trying to figure out my calorie burning goal, will post numbers when I figure it out! For now my goal of the day is to stay under my calories (yesterday was…
  • SW-Starting Weight CW-Current Weight Goal- Goal Weight!
  • I don't have a good name suggestion, but I'll keep thinking! I just ate a large lunch that included french fries- For sure hitting the gym harder tonight! and Becky I can definitely relate to friends who aren't exactly supportive (I usually get "ew!" as my response to going to the gym rather than drinking wine and watching…
  • Hi Becky, I would love to do this with you! I originally joined with my sister, but since starting her new job she hasn't been logging in and I've been looking for someone to do this with. I too and very results oriented, and not seeing anything immediately means that I need help motivating to keep me going toward my end…
  • I'm 5'0 152 and a size 6 and they're fitting better than ever! Thanks for starting the thread, very cool
  • You look beautiful and thank you for posting these pictures! They are really inspirational for a person like me who is just starting out and needing the day to day motivation (since you don't always see results right away!)
