  • Wow, your story gave me chills because it's so moving.
  • Wow, congratulations and good luck and much fun for your half marathon. Incredibly inspiring, thanks for brightening my day.
  • Everyone has a bad week (or month :) sometimes. Maybe sign up to walk or run a 5k now that it's spring. It helps me to have a goal, so following a training program helps. If you sign up to train with a group they will help motivate you.
  • Maybe you could compromise and just have a 12 oz serving a few times a week? That's what I do with diet coke.
  • You are smart to listen to your doctor and stop them for awhile. Pain is a signal to you (not weakness or anything). I have to be really careful with squats too. I did weight workouts for months before I could do squats at all, and now I only do them very carefully and stop if it's hurting. I did get stronger over time, we…
  • Best to donate them. I don't always do this, though. You always have some clothes that fit no matter what, so if it's ugly or doesn't fit...someone might get more use out of them.
  • I used to add half and half and sugar, now I drink it black, sometimes with a cinnamon stick. The cinnamon seems to take away the bitterness, smells nice, and has some anti-inflammatory properties - plus it makes it special. I like it better than a bunch of artificial stuff, which seems counterproductive to the idea of…
  • Good that you saw dr. Altho my doc said thyroid normal for 2 years I couldn't lose either. Then had him test for anti thyroid antibodies and they were sky high. You might consider asking doc if he did all 4 tests for thyroid, since 1 test might not catch it. Anyway, that's what happened to me.
  • I cook with it, like making a chicken/vegetable stir fry. It's nice variety if nothing else...
  • Just made a good one this morning (gluten free/dairy free): 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 2 Tablespoons Bob's red mill hemp protein powder, 1 medium banana, 5 strawberries, 2 cups of fresh spinach. Will give you tons of energy, good pre-workout. Can add ice.
  • I have that issue too. Custom orthotics have helped me. I have tried lots of stuff but currently find rolling my affected foot on a golf ball helpful. It hurts a lot when you first start. I try to do it for as long as I can stand it, about 15 minutes (had to work up to that). Also I wear cushioned shoes and get occasional…
  • I am 47 and was having same problem. Asked my MD to do more thyroid tests than the standard and came back Hashimoto's thyroiditis. It might be worth asking your doc about it again, even though you said thyroid normal some of the most basic tests don't show this and it is a common condition in women.
  • Way to go, stick with it. I eat gluten free/dairy free so I like the paleo recipes too.
  • Congratulations on coming through a tough time. Is there a professional nutritionist you could consult with? It would probably be worth it if you can swing it.
