  • 1. Everything in moderation- eat whatever you want but in a reasonable portion size 2. Water is essential-stay thirsty, my friends 3. Don't obsess- if you have a bad meal, just move on. one day won't ruin everything.
  • I eat Clif bars almost daily. I find them satisfying and delicious, unless most granola bars, which are a waste of calories. Just keep in mind they have a lot of sugar, I have to cut out dessert some days because of it. Coconut Chocolate Chip is the best, with Chocolate Mint at a close second. :)
  • I've had acid reflux since I was like 9... it's entirely possible to have it when you're young. On the plus side, I never eat too much fat because it makes my reflux go crazy! I would bet the lemon juice is what irritated you.
  • Any kind of dairy dessert. I refuse to buy some chemically Cool Whip or low-fat ice cream just to make my dessert healthier. It tastes weird and unsatisfying. I'd rather have a smaller amount of the real stuff and actually enjoy it.
  • My years of marching band have given me insane calves. Just like any other body feature, you have to learn to love yourself for better or for worse. Strong calves means you have a beautiful, muscular body from all your hard work. Enjoy it, it's a sign of progress!
  • It's definetely an acquired taste, the first few times tasted chalky and gross, but then I started to LOVE it. You do have to be careful with selecting a brand, because they can be loaded with sugar and saturated fat. I looked at the Greek Gods yogurt today, and there was 34 g of sugar and 50% of your saturated fat in one…
  • I have extremely flat feet, which has led to Achilles Tendonitis, Sever's disease, and the like. I wear orthotics, but there are some days I want to wear cute shoes. So the general rule is if I don't wear them for one day, i need to wear them the next. I have to be very diligent in keeping them loose, which means…
  • I get Egg McMuffins on the Saturdays I have to drive to debate tournaments. One of those and a Greek yogurt makes for a delicious and protein filled meal. There's plenty of things on the menu that make for a good treat without too much damage.
  • I see how soda is addicting, I used to love my daily root beer. But it just puts a dent in your calories with no nutritional benefit. Diet soda isn't that different from regular soda, it's just chemical sugars such as aspartame. Now this doesn't have an immediate effect on your health, but artificial sugar is around 1000…
  • I came to that realization! It was a sad day, because I sold them when I was a Girl Scout and got to eat all the cookies I wanted with no weight gain. le sigh. I think of dessert as an investment now, and if I'm eating it, it better be satisfying and damn good. Three Do Si Dos and you're done? What?
  • Do some more strength training for the abs and get rid of the last of the winter pudge before bikini season. I have a hot pink bikini calling my name...
  • Try some Greek yogurt, it's tasty and rich and packs a lot of protein. You can find low sugar kinds, as well as low fat or nonfat. I myself am usually pretty low on fat so I eat this delicious kind called Noosa when I want a treat!
  • I'm 19! Feel free to add me!
  • Ice cream! Which is huge because I usually have a half serving every afternoon. I was going to do chocolate completely, but then I realized Clif bars have chocolate, so just chocolate candy. i actually like the challenge of Lent, I've been able to drop some bad habits because of it.
  • I can do an entire large bowl of grapes in one sitting.
  • I gave up soda for Lent a few years ago and never looked back. I now drink only water and unsweetened tea, and I feel so much better. Doing strictly water forces you to stay well hydrated. Fun fact: being hydrated (8 glasses a day) leads to a 20% energy increase. Soda is just empty calories, diet or regular. Even diet…
  • I'm 17, and I usually don't say I'm counting calories because I get lectured for being one of those eating disorder girls. Actually, I don't think I'm hurting myself by eating 1800 calories a day and exercising. Then people will say, "oh you're a teenager, you're metabolism is great and you're growing!" Yes, but that…
  • For some reason my stomach just shuts off after 7pm. I hate large dinners, and eating late. I have acid reflux and am in horrible pain if I eat too close to bed, or God forbid, drink some wine. I usually eat my dinner calories at around 4, including ice cream. (My favorite!) Then if I overdo it there's still time in the…
  • I simply lost around 10 pounds over a summer in high school, but it did wonders for my confidence. I suddenly felt beautiful and ready to take on the world. Apparently others picked up on this, because I became more social and ended up with my first boyfriend, who said he fell in love because my " amazing body was only an…
  • Hula hooping to some music :)
  • I started hula hooping in my childhood and got hooked when I realized it's a great way to get fit. I can go for an hour without realizing it, and it burns a good amount of calories. I love it because it's easy, I don't need any gear, and I do it while I watch TV. The bruising can happen if you overdo it at first, but your…
  • Starting in middle school, I would immediately eat a huge snack after school. We're talking pasta, ice cream, popcorn, cereal, muffins, etc. Then after this 3 PM gorge, I would eat a full dinner. My rationale was that I had worked so hard all day and I was so hungry. When I started logging, I realized how many extra…
