I'm so with you on this one! I can't seem to get motivated to move too much. This is SO frustrating for me, but still, I can't get past a few small walks and using the stairs now and then here at work. :(

You're on the right road, and you have so much support here at MFP! I am 53 and I am fat, :( and definitely trying to change that. I also have diabetes, so it's an upward battle, but I know I'll get there. Welcome to our "family" here! Together, we can all reach our goals.

You are an inspiration! I agree with Smokey - you are a hero! You also make me ashamed that I don't get my butt up off the couch more and MOVE more!! You may be just the push I need to take the stairs from the 2nd floor at work today up to the 6th for my lunch in the cafe at noon. :) You're gonna make it. You've got a…

LOL, Smokey. I always drank water, but after I was diagnosed, it became my only beverage other than my morning coffee. I know what you mean about feeling like the river is going to burst sometimes, hahahaha. I drink over a gallon every day. It does help keep me full though. My one weakness is that I like to have something…

Thanks!!!

Welcome! Congrats on your weight loss!

Thanks, Big. Yep, I got the wake up call. Will be talking to my Dr today.

I look at two different ways depending on my mood on any given day. Sometimes the goal is to get back into my size 6 jeans, whatever that weight ends up being. On the other hand, I am slightly obsessed with weighing myself daily (bad habit from the anorexic days) and my number goal is 135 lbs. I'm 5'6"

I like cool, fresh English cucumber slices, too. They crunch and if I sprinkle a little salt on them then it satisfies my need for the little bit of salt as well.
-
That's what I'm afraid of. I keep putting off actually opening and trying these, LOL. Maybe I'll brave it today, or on the weekend, or.....maybe soon, LOL.

Thanks, Laura. You're right. I was dizzy, I had spots in front of my eyes. It was so wrong on so many levels. I've never been able to lose weight on more than 1000 calories a day, even when I was working out 4-5 times a week when I was in my 20s. My body just doesn't cooperate. Not sure what to do there, but I'll talk to…

Wow!! Thank you everyone!!! I can't wait to try these out!

OK.....so I just woke up to an all time low of 21. Rather than candy, I'm sitting down to 2 teaspoons of peanut butter and some soda crackers. The cold sweats and shaking are slowly starting to subside and my BG is slowly starting to rise. I adjusted my insulin earlier to a much lower number of units than usual and I guess…

Thanks, everyone!!!

OMG I can so feel your frustration. I hit the very same wall sometimes. I have just recently gotten things more under control as far as my numbers go, though I'm not losing any weight, largely I think due to the fact that I'm on insulin. Unfortunately, insulin makes it so much harder to lose the pounds. How late are you…

With you all the way, girl. We can do this and we can get healthy together!
-
Kimberlee, you are amazing! You were able to get off the insulin? That's one of my biggest goals right now.
-
You'll make it. It's a lifestyle change that takes a lot of getting used to. You've got tons of support here.

I'm new here, too! I LOVE MFP!

I take cashews and season them with a little olive oil, Worcestershire, garlic powder (you can use any seasoning you want). Do a quick pan roast on them and then spread them out on a baking sheet and oven roast at 350 for about 15 minutes. Let them cool down and you have a crunchy, salty snack that you have a few bites of…

That kind of thing usually happens to me if I crash.

I don't know about anyone else, but I go through periods of denial similar to when I was first diagnosed. When you said you have become dismissive about it I totally understand. It's not always easy, but you need to pick yourself back up and do what you need to do. It's so hard sometimes and I really just want to say the…

Thanks, everyone! I haven't had any problems with it. I only take the two capsules as recommended on the bottle once a day with a meal and I seem to do OK.
-
You are an inspiration! My goal is to get to a 5 or under, AND to get off insulin!
-
Kudos to you! I got mine down from 11.4 to 7.3 in two months. I want to see it get to under 6, and that's my goal for this next month.
-
I know I've only got 40 to lose, but I'm with you all the way! I need accountability - someone to tell when I "f" up.
-
Thanks, Dee. I'm still playing with my insulin to get the dosage right and that's what causes my lows. On a good note, my A1C is going down. I'm lowering my overnight dose of insulin and seeing how that goes.

Hi Shell, Devestated wasn't the word for it. I was stunned and in total denial for about two months. I went through the whole "this isn't fair" thing and then the guy I was dating took control and forced me to eat right, walk, etc. I know what you mean about your fasting needing to be low for your own peace of mind. I'm…
