i've been hoping for a post like this for a while now. I work evening shifts (6pm-10pm), my parents save me dinner to have when i get home, so it usually goes something like this: snack before work (just a pack of crisps) big bowl of pasta at work large dinner when i get home a small sweet pie a pack of crisps a large bowl…

I used to be exactly the same, hated running, couldn't see how people could be bothered/put up with the pain.. I kept 'starting' running. I'd go out two to three times before I quit again. And I know its not quite the same, but for the last 3 weeks I've been on he running machine at the gym. I plug in some opera music (I…

that sounds sort of ridiculous, but i'm not a nutritionist..?

I have been on 1200 calories for short periods at a time, dropping about 10lb (in say 6 weeks) then slowly going back up to around 2000 for a few months before starting the cycle again. Its a slow process, but i'm on my last 10-15lbs and its a way to get your body used to staying at that weight.

im no expert, but i think the deal is that there is no secret answer. you can tone up thighs with squats, cycling, running etc, but losing large amounts on your thighs is very hard, its just goes a little as you lose weight :)

Depends on what your activity level is set at, if its the minimum (sedentry i think), then log an hour or two of slow walking, because thats what you did! :)

Thats incredible, congratulations! :)

The weight loss would bring me down to 130, which im still not sure about, its more of an estimate, i'll stop when im happy :) Im no pro at running, but have found the less i think about what im doing, the longer and further i run. Im sure i probably should be thinking about what im doing more, but that puts me off for…

i think the trick is to keep exercising, even if it is just going for a fast walk whenever you get the chance. "I only exercise so that i can eat more" -thats my diet ideas  to maintain a healthy body, you have to continue eating healthily im afraid. Treat yourself, and dont worry if your weight fluctuates :)

Love this :) hoping everything calms down for you soon x

Bump.

Drink around 3 cups of water, plus about 2 cups for every 30 minutes of exercise i do. Drinking water after exercise makes me recover faster, plus generally stops me feeling hungry and constantly snacking. I used to drink relatively nothing, and totally feel the difference.

I totally know the feeling, woke up today feeling rubbish and instead of heading to the carbs like usual, i made a 1000 calorie microwave mug cake. In disgust, i have now been running on the wii fit for 90 minutes and plan on carrying on.. i also have to exercise solo without a gym and really struggle.. i end up starting…

i'm from a pretty small city in England, and whilst i love the idea of going to new york, i don't think i'd be able to keep up! Plus the number of places at each university means if i'm lucky enough to get the opportunity to go, i will probably end up at one of the University of California campuses.

thanks for all the replies! I've got plenty more research to do and a long time to decide, but i'm definately really excited by the whole idea of coming to Americaa :D
