  • Do I need to sync my intestine up with my wifi so the clock stays accurate?
  • A fly fell into my water this morning, so I guess it's no longer water. Most of you must be half dead of dehydration since you aren't having any "water".
  • I'm a 23 year old guy and I don't give my seat to anyone on account of back problems that make it rather unpleasant to stand up, but I sure do enjoy being judged by everyone else on the bus. What I love more is people that buy a ticket then proceed to fill the seat next to them with bags, then expect people to stand up.…
  • I'm both terribly unfit and have exercise induced asthma, and I find that after having a couple puffs on my inhaler really helps open up my lungs, though it is perfectly manageable without. I'd suggest that if you can manage your breathing during and after your runs, try a few more times, and if you still have the…
  • I feel like when I jog I'm going the same speed as when I walk, but it doesn't matter because it's all about getting that heart rate up and keeping it there. If you want confirmation about losing weight and jogging, get a cheap heart rate monitor and look at the calories you are burning in those 40 minutes! A monitor will…

  • The various lumps in my back that cause me sometimes(most times) excruciating pain when I sit/stand/lay in the same position for more than about 20 minutes. My doctor thinking its okay to hand out opiate painkillers like they're candy, without even giving as much as a clue how I should go about losing this extra weight. I…
  • I've seen people post pictures up after 7 days with an obvious difference, guess it varies person by person!
  • Wow if I was a 200lb female I'd look pretty hot!
  • I don't deal with it, I just die a little inside every time it happens. My girlfriend always brings home chocolate and cakes and crisps, and is constantly eating! I think until they have been where we are, and actually understand what we're trying to accomplish, they don't really understand. Feel free to drop me a friend…
  • Workout as often as you can for as long as you can, low impact preferably to minimise risk of injury.
  • Steady breathing through the nose, that's what I always do, it sometimes means I have to slow down a bit but the mucus in the nose makes the cold air warmer before it hits your lungs.
  • If any other people with hypo (or any other thyroid issues) want to add me then feel free, since I'd guess there's not that many of us on here :)
  • Sadly all you can do is wait for blood tests, you'll have your test in 8 weeks and if they still find something wrong and have to give you meds, then you'll have to wait for another blood test in 8 weeks, and then if that doesn't come back quite right and they adjust your meds again, another 8 week wait for a blood test!…
  • Down 2lbs on weigh in day this week, been trying to do more exercise in the hope that I can keep losing!
  • Just keep at it, remember you're starting a healthy way of life so stick at it and you'll get there eventually :)
  • Wow congrats on that! Weigh in day is tomorrow for me, so hoping for a loss, have lost 10lbs already but don't feel any lighter sadly.
  • Would love to be a part of this group, have suffered from depression and social anxiety for a long time, so much so that now I'm 23, jobless, qualificationless, and besides my partner who lives with me and my mum, I don't have any friends. Will be nice to talk to some people who actually understand and don't just roll…
  • I'll join in with this, managed 10 this week so 15 will be a good goal for next week :)
  • If it's really getting you down you could try speaking to your doctor about some counselling, lots of people I know have had something called Cognitive Behaviour Therapy which seems like it could really help in your situation if you are unable to resolve it. :) Edit: I looked at your profile and seriously, you look amazing…
  • I've had low thyroid levels for most of this year now after having a dose increase and not having bloods done so my level was too low for a long time, I just had an increase about 9 weeks ago and more bloods that came back the next day saying I needed an even higher dose, which i've been taking for a week or so. I've had…
  • What I've seen be quite effective as far as cheat days go for people who are quite overweight and used to eating as and when they please, is set aside one day a week where you can eat a bit more than you usually would, with still a calorie limit (generally just before the amount of calories that would cause you to put on a…
  • Just did the initial tests, managed 20 squats, 10 pushups and 9 situps, gonna be doing monday, wednesday and friday next week and see how it goes!
  • Gonna try this tomorrow and possibly the pushup and/or dips challenge too.
  • You have to expect to gain a bit of weight when you start strength training as you're building muscle, assuming as you're a runner you won't be trying to put on lots of muscle then you won't always be gaining, but I wouldn't expect that extra weight to just disappear.
  • I completely agree! Also taking into account the link between overweight people and depression, having a tidy space can only be a positive thing. And as we all know, cleaning and tidying = exercise!
  • If you feel more comfortable in yourself, and you can see in your body that you're making progress and things are changing, put the scales away somewhere. You're clearly doing brilliantly, and making progress regardless of what the devil scales are telling you. As for the article, most of us know there's no quick, healthy…

  • I usually weigh myself first thing in the morning (after the wee), lots of things change how much you weigh during the day, so first thing in the morning is usually the best time to do it, and try to always do it at that time. Edit: beaten to it :(
  • My sig is one of my favourite quotes :)
  • i just joined the site myself and was thinking about starting the couch to 5k program myself, feel free to drop me a friend request and we can do it together!
