Good job! That's a great reason to get in shape!

My vision isn't *too* bad, but I never take them off and I too get the steam problem a bit, usually only when I'm on my back. I'm wondering if there is some kind of adhesive pad you could put on it so that your nose won't hurt. As for the steam I don't know what would fix that, if anything. Good luck!

Rock on! You've handled the stress of life really well. You're the perfect example of "what doesn't kill me makes me stronger".

That's a good way to look at it. Whenever I'm carrying a box of books at work (usually 10 pounds) I remember that I used to carry twice that on my body.

Regardless if this is a good idea or not, I think in addition to or instead of, there needs to be massive education about health for the public, whether it's billboards, ads on computers, proper healthy eating/fitness talk in schools, etc. Yes, we are free to choose, but we're not doing ourselves any favors by letting the…

You are amazing! Keep up the good work!

Like others said, lift moderately heavy, keep doing your dance, and eat clean.

You might fare better with Vodka, soda, and lime or the like. Rum's pretty high in calories if I remember right. Do some research ahead of time and pick a lighter libation. p.s. woot, philly!

You really have come so far!

Well done!

I have a few pictures mixed up with other old photos. I was with my ex for 2.5 years during my loud, multi-colored hair years of high school into college. It's the past, there's no reason to be ashamed of the past unless one did something shameful.

You cannot control where your body lets go of the weight. Work out your whole body to get your desired affects. Believe me, I tried for SO long to just lose some weight off my belly, but all of those crunches just made my muscles stronger. The fat stayed. I recommend the 30 Day Shred combined with some high intensity…

Ignore the scale. Grab a tape measure and take progress photos. If your clothes feel looser and you feel better then you are succeeding. Are you doing other workouts in addition to 30 DS? Are you doing the DVD everyday? I combine the shred (doing it every other day, sometimes two days in a row) with hiking and…

If it isn't working for you then don't do it. If you think cycling would increase your satisfaction then definitely give it a try. Good luck :)

Hey all, I did Day 8 of Level 1 day before yesterday, will do it again tonight. I've done if 8 days out of 11 I'd say. In conjunction with hiking and walking/jogging I've lost 6 pounds, which is awesome because previous to the 30DS I was working out 6 days a week and was stalled. *happy dance*

Don't worry. Scales lie, they aren't always the best way to judge your progress. You feel good, your clothes are looser- who cares about that number? It's just that, a number. If you look and feel better then you are a SUCCESS. Get a tape measure and track your progress that way and keep doing what you're doing!…

Good work! You must feel great! As for loose skin, if you start putting on muscle/cutting body fat you should see it decreasing. Also be sure to drink a lot of water :) They talk about it on this forum I belong to: http://nerdfitness.com/community/showthread.php?9218-So-worried-about-saggy-skin Again, congratulations,…

I'm 5'10" and my highest was 197 lbs. and some of my size 16 pants were feeling tight. I weigh in at around 186~ (weighing today, so we'll see) and I'm wearing size 14 jeans now. I'm hoping to get to size 12 by fall and ultimately a 10 I guess. I'm not really sure though. Been a 14/16 forever.

I just want to say that I moved out of a very old building with a horrible noisy, disgusting neighbor above us (our maintenance man, lovely...)and if it'd just been a college student working out for 40 minutes and walking around I would have been over the moon with glee! It sounds like your neighbor previously had absolute…

Circuit training, hiking, cycling, cutting out soda, most processed foods. Basically I found physical activity I enjoy and started eating more fresh vegetables and fruits and so forth.

Good work! You've earned that body, enjoy it!

Great start!

Rock on!

Blackstrap molasses?

Depending on the day my breakfast is anywhere from 290-900 calories. If I'm hiking for two hours later on then I am going to eat a BIG breakfast, but if I am just going to work it usually hovers around 290-500. My goals without ex. cals is 1590 though.

It's not just a question of the number on the scale, the inches around your waist, hips, etc are a better way to track. 130 with no muscle vs. 130 with some muscle, each will look different. Measure yourself with a measuring tape and try to imagine how you would look when that number goes down. Good luck!

Strawberries, as part of my lunch which was 2 hard boiled eggs and half a pbj on whole grain bread.

What about hiking? I know not everyone has access to an area to hike in, but if you can you might want to do a little hiking to help build endurance before jogging/running as it is lower impact, but still more difficult. Aside from that I agree with the person who said to give the elliptical a go. Listen to you body. If…
