Yeah you!! Good mom and good upper body strength!! Double NSV!

You're a NINJA!! Way to go on fitting your "skinny pants" ! That ROCKS!! (I am going to make it my goal to work in the word Ninja into as many conversations as possible today.)

NSV= Ninja Scale Victory!!! That was an AWESOME NSV! Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your weight loss!!

And we have the weight advantage!

I did all 9 weeks of C25K and RAN my first 5K April 7th. And I am a 40 year old fatty!! But, if you can't run the whole thing that is just fine too! Most 5K's have a 2 hour time limit and if it's being run at the same time as a 10K or a half marathon the course will be open for 4 hours. You can definitely do that!! And if…

This may be my new favorite MFP post! :drinker:

Doing a Tough Mudder is on my bucket list! I am hoping for the SoCal 2013 TM. I can't wait!!!!
-
If my purse weighed 10-12 pounds I would leave it that full and track it as strength training in MFP!
-
I just missed ours in SoCal and I was so MAD!! I am definitely doing it next year! I could still do the Spartan Run but I hear that one is WAY harder than the Warrior Dash. GOOD LUCK!!!! I You will be awesome!!

"I remember hearing about some study about kids and test scores being higher with those kids who ate breakfast compared to the ones that did not have breakfast on the news long ago. It was a nutrition bit they did. Breakfast might be a good idea there if that study still holds true." The study that most use in this case…

That is amazing! Just finishing a marathon is an incredible feat, but you ROCKED it!! WTG!!!

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing!! I really do need to learn more about macronutrients....

I started couch to 5K in January and just ran two 5Ks the last two weekends. I also track everything I eat on MFP. I run 3 times a week (about 2 miles) I've lost 24.1 pounds in that time. I think jogging helps.

That is a good one!! WTG!!!

If it's important, you'll find a way. If it's not, you'll find an excuse.

DITTO!!

I have found that my grocery budget went up when I started eating healthier. Plus, there aren't as many coupons on fresh meats and produce as there are on the prepared/packaged foods so it's a double whammy. Even same-for-same is more expensive. I used to buy the store brand sandwich bread for 99 cents and now I buy…

You're not an idiot!! It stands for Non-Scale Victory!

It depends on how old it was when you put it in the freezer. Odds are it will be fine if you cook it properly.

He is ridiculously hot and about half my age!! Total eye candy for my runs!!

Then perhaps you could post a suggestion on your own wall for your friends to see. Something like, "Hey MFP pals, I really appreciate that you want to be supportive of me and my goals but sometimes I really need you guys to kick me in the butt when I have a bad day." That might be more effective than calling them out in…

I second the avocado. I mash mine up on whole wheat toast in the morning! YUM-O!!

I think it's good to have a few on hand to grab instead of fast food or something even worse when life gets busy. But I agree that you should try to eat less processed foods. I try to cook several chicken breasts and boil some eggs on the weekend to have on hand for quick snacks and meals during the week. I'll just throw a…

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I weigh myself everyday in the morning to help keep me focused and from digging myself too deep a hole! But my "official" weigh in is on Sunday morning. From Sunday to Sunday is how I track my overall progress so the little ups and downs during the week don't stress me out (too much...)…

I agree that a running store would be the ideal. However, if that's not available to you, I LOVE my Asics GS-2160's. The Runner's World website also has a great shoe comparison tool which can help you narrow down your choices.
