  • You have a lot to be proud of, takes lots of work and commitment to lose that much weight in a short time. Congrats, you look amazing!!!
  • Jasmine, you have much to be proud of...you are so much stronger then you were giving yourself credit for and the proof is right in these pictures. I am the same height as you and it took me a year, but I went from 289 lbs. down to 149. I have all the confidence in the world that you will reach your goal, just don't lose…
  • I had the same question for my doctor when I started using MFP. My doctor also recommended 800-1000 calories for weight loss. He said that essentially, if you eat the extra calories you earn from the exercise all you are doing is maintaining the weight when the goal is to lose it. In order tro lose the weight safely…
  • This has been kind of a tough month for me. Following some medical issues, I had a surgical procedure done this week that I had ben putting off for a vey long time. This made it difficult for me to exercise like I wanted to, but I am on the mend and have been given the ok by my doctor to resume regular workouts this coming…
  • SW - 185 lbs. Wk 1 - 180 lbs. Wk 2 - 180lbs. Wk 3 - 179 lbs. Wk 4 OK, so this is a bit harder than it usually is for me. I seem to have struggled in the weight loss dept. this month. Have to ramp it up for the next week.
  • Felt much better this weekend after starting the week on a down note. Started 30 Day Shred yesterday and by the time I finished day 2 earlier today, I was feeling some serious burn throughout my body. Didn't eat the greatest this past week, so definitely going to up my nutritional game this week. Hopefully 30 Day Shred…
  • Your transformation is one borne of strength and determination. There are not enough words to describe how inspiring you are. Good luck to you on your upcoming surgeries, I am sure you will come through it all with the same degree of determination and success that you have shown in your weight loss goals. Keep posting…
  • SW - 185 lbs. Wk 1 - 180 lbs. Wk 2 - 180lbs. Wk 3 Wk 4 Unfortunately, I have been ill this week and didn't get to exercise like I wanted to, so I also didn't meet my mini goal, but I will try to look at the bright side, at least the scale didn't go backwards. Next week will be a much better week.
  • Hi everyone, hope everybody had a great week. Had a bit of a setback this week as I was under the weather, therefore didn't get to workout as frequently as I'd hoped. Starting to feel better so going to try and get some exercise n this weekend, but will definitely be getting back on track by Monday.
  • I love the idea of mini-goals, what everyone wants to accomplish. I gave up soda 8 months ago and stick to water. What I do want to accomplish is working out at more regular intervals throughout the week. I have 4 boys and it can be a challenge. So that is going to be my mini goal, to try and get my workouts up to 4-5…
  • I can relate to your situation. I've had health issues which required taking medications that have hampered my weight loss effort in the past. Thankfully, I am beyond those issues just as you will overcome the issues with your leg. Just remember, your health comes first. I can completely see you in the 160 range by mid…
  • I feel the same as you, I am 5'6" and thought 160 was a reasonable goal, but now I am considering whether or not it would be possible to go lower. People can be incredibly inconsiderate and I have already been "cautioned" about losing too much weight by "well-meaning" individuals, but I am going to take it one pound at a…
  • Good Morning everyone, hewhoiscd: Congratulations on completing your race this morning!!! alf1163: question for you, I have two left feet (literally, as I have never learned to dance!!), but am interested in trying zumba. Do you think it is something I would be able to get the hang of? I think I met most of my goals this…
  • Thanks for the offer, sent friend request!!
  • SW - 185 lbs. Wk 1 - 180 lbs. Wk 2 Wk 3 Wk 4 Total so far 5 lbs., have a great week everybody!!
  • hewhoiscd: I spoke with my doctor just today and he said for continued weight loss at a safe pace, I should consume approx. 1200 calories daily. I took my eating from one extreme to another and right now, I am struggling to find a happy medium.
  • Hi everyone, looking for a little guidance here. So primarily, I was focused on losing a lot of weight and as such, I've stuck to a very low calorie diet somewhere between 500-800 calories. I have stuck to ellipticals and treadmills, but now I am looking to do some serious toning and moving on to other types of workouts. I…
  • Hi, I would like to join the group, not exactly sure how. I'm a 40 year old mother of 4, who has struggled with being overweight all my life. I embarked on my journey towards healthy living right after my 40th birthday back in March. I had reached a new low ( or high depending on how you look at it) of 289 lbs., was…
  • I am so in, I have been struggling for motivation lately. This may just be the kick in the pants I need to get me going again. SW - 185
  • My playlist runs towards 80's Rock and heavy metal, with a little 90's mxed in. I have tons of John Mellencamp, Black Sabbath, Ozzie, Bon Jovi, Stone Temple Pilots and Aerosmith. Something about this type of music just gets me going and it before I know it, by the time I've worked through my playlist, I have put in a good…
  • I am 5'6" and topped the scales earlier this year at 289 lbs., I am now at 185 lbs. and my goal is to ultimately get to 150 - 155 lbs. I think your goals are very realistic and well thought out. I am sure you will have no problem attaining your goals. Add me, would like to have more friendly support.
  • I am not a fan of ground turkey either but it actually tastes good in chili. Making it in chili will actually cover the gamey taste that turkey sometimes has.
  • Hi, I am new to the site, just begun my weight loss journey. Looking forward to seeing how far I can take it.
