Fitbit tracks your calories burned from the moment the day starts, you burn calories sleeping. And it does deduct exercise calories when you are inactive. As an example I worked out this morning and had 600 exercise calories by 6:00am then decided to take a nap and had 540 when I got back up. Make sure and set your MFP…

The net on your home page should be 1200 The remaining on your food diary should be zero. But since HRM's, fitbits and MFP's calcs kind of overestimate give yourself some leeway. Plus read Dan's road map, it did wonders for me, some people ***** and complain about it but it's worth a try.…

Yup! That's Dan Dan the donut man!

Once you get to 40-50 pounds people will start asking you if your sick or dying!  I found that the people you see most often will notice around 20 pounds. It also helps when you start putting on old clothes that you haven't worn for years. When your clothes get baggy it hides the weight loss.

I prefer the 25%, anything below that is just scary. Give me legs, legs and more legs, legs that don't quit. Boobs I could care less for, give me small ones, fake ones are just so obvious.

That's fairly simple. 1. It's not a fad diet and it works. 2. It's free. 3. Seeing the results is the motivation to stay. 4. I can eat what I like. The first thing I would do is send your new recruits to the success stories forum and look at the results of other people. Let them see what weight loss really looks like.

The fitbit is a great motivational tool for walking. You will be suprised how many steps you take in a day. I'm always trying to better my numbers on the Fitbit plus it logs to MFP when you sync it. I'm not happy unless I'm around 12,000 for the day which is around 5-6 miles.

There just isn't any words to describe this amazing transformation.  Great to see a fellow Husker do great things!

Been a follower since July 2012 when I was starving myself, cranky, irritable, unbearable and stopped losing weight. Been promoting it since about September 2012, it's so simple and makes so much sense.

You really need to start logging and tracking your intake. Most everything is in the food database and once you get it into your diary it's right there for easy access When you mention nuts and fruit those are very high calorie foods, albeit very good for you. I'm a nut addict too! and 1 oz of roasted peanuts is around 180…

Think of it as a reward for all your hard work in the past week. A cheat day is OK once in awhile. If anything you should be encouraged with what you've done.

I lost 30 pounds after starting MFP 9 months ago without any exercise other than work which is quite active. I have just started using the new gym at my apartment complex which is quite wonderful and free as I ended up being what they call here skinny fat. I hate exercise too but I feel really good after I've punished…

I knew the moment I started reading this that it was destined to be shot down in flames.  I see that you just joined MFP, here's a must read, http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 When I started I was doing it all wrong just like you are, read the previous…

This thread has now jumped off into the deep end. Plus I just saw an ad for Diet Coke at the bottom of the page. Continue on!

Love cauliflower! all great ideas I need to try. I usually just steam it and slather in cheese sauce. Or eat it raw with low fat ranch dressing

Reading the road map is the best thing you can do right now, do the math and follow it.

I would consider that lightly active. Get yourself a Fitbit or any of the other calorie and step counters and see what it says, it will automatically adjust your food diary with exersize calories. I still think they overestimate slightly but I've had success using one. I found that I was alot more active than I thought for…

Never heard of the site so I checked it out with IE8 and a Norton popup said it blocked a malicious attack on my computer.

Increase your calories. Looks like another good candidate for the roadmap, this has worked for many people. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12

Been using my Fitbit for about 6 months and would be lost without it. I've always wanted to compare numbers with other people, feel free to add me.

This thread made me laugh. I have a new apprentice helping me at work and one day a couple weeks ago we were working out of town and had to go to a McDonald's for lunch, he had his own lunch and I went inside, when I returned and jumped in the truck there was this god awful smell in the truck and I asked him what it was…

Please reread what was asked of you and enlighten us to what fruits and vegetables are high in protein.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

I would vote for the Fitbit too! Never leave home without it. I do think the calorie adjustment is a bit high though when linked to your food diary on MFP.

You need to read Dan's post. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12

I started this journey the same way you are and paid the price for the first 2 months. Please read Dan's post and try to take a more conservative approach. 3 lb's a week is way to aggressive. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12

HAHA!! It probably wasn't. I had to edit a couple of times to get to the start of his thread

Ramp up the calories. I hit the plateau about the same as you, it lasted about 6 weeks. After increasing my calories the weight started coming off again. I went from 198 to 179 in the past 8 weeks. I've blown thru my goal and now I'm trying to maintain or gain a couple of pounds. And like I tell everyone read the roadmap…
