  • Aqua Zumba. Sounds fun. I don't think you get the actual heart rate while you're in the water. What I've read is when others have used their monitor while connected to their loop they pull their chest and loop out of the water long enough to make a connection. I don't think it actually works together while underwater. But…
  • Today is my first full day with my Fitbit Charge HR so I want to make sure I'm doing this right. Today I only did a jog, but tomorrow I will be lifting weights. If I am understanding this correctly, when I start my workout I press the button on my Charge HR to initiate the exercise, then later, I go into the fitbit app and…
  • Also - Oops. Sorry, I thought I posted this in the Fitbit group, not the MFP Message Board.
  • You're right, when I was initially looking at activity trackers I couldn't find any that would clock swimming that. However, the Loop is waterproof. You can swim with it and arm movements would count as steps. Some people that had a certain HR chest strap said they would do laps, and then pull the upper half of their body…
  • Have you picked one yet? I have a polar loop and yesterday I bought the fitbit charge HR. I've been wearing my loop for awhile, but wearing both since yesterday afternoon. I'm going to check the results in the morning to see how it works out.
  • Have you been able to figure this out? Do you have an iPhone or iPad? I could be wrong but from what I can see it MFP only syncs my loop calories from my iPad app.
  • I know this is a few weeks old but was wondering if anyone had any more information on this? From what I am understanding (and what I do) I do not log work outs anymore. I just let my loop do all the math for me. I was looking at the information today and I see it takes my Target Calories Burned from Normal Daily activity…
  • So apparently I stopped working out, stopped logging, and stopped using my loop for...awhile. But I finally gave myself the kick in the but I needed to get back on track and only just now discovered the loop does this now! I'm excited to start using it again.
  • Yikes. I haven't had that problem. The loop updates step readings once a minute. So if you have are counting steps in your head you can't really check it immediately when you stop. You should wait a minute and check again to see if it caught up to you.
  • Isn't it great when you don't have to invest extra money! I am pretty sure it works with the polar beat app as well, the only difference being it doesn't show the battery status in the beat app. But I read that somewhere, so I could just be making it up, since I don't have that brand.
  • Really? That's interesting, you're arm isn't moving so I wonder how it's detecting steps. I've never been on a bike, does a vibrate a lot or something? Can I ask why you feel the monitor is difficult to use while training? Does it drop the connection a lot?
  • It made a HUGE difference once I got my H7. Just walking I have to hit about 17,000 steps. But when I work out with the HR monitor I have to take significantly less steps.
  • That's what I have been doing, I'd rather show my work out calories and not my everyday calories. Thanks for the info!
  • Yikes. Make sure you sync before you update it though. It erased all my data from last night.
  • Well I guess I can confirm that wearing a HR monitor while working out changes your step goal. (Thank goodness) I've had my loop since Wednesday night, so far mine looks like this: 5/29: 105% goal, 17433 steps, 6:24 active, and 2362 calories (no HR monitor) 5/30: 63% goal, 11355 steps, 5:35 active, and 2181 calories (no…
  • That's a good idea, thanks. I'll try that next time.
  • I don't know, maybe I'll try and emaill Polar and ask them too. Like right now I just left the gym and I'm at 4139 steps, granted today was weight training, but I'm onky at 19% to goal. Thanks for checking yours. I have the H7 on order, hopefully it gets here tomorrow. That sucks that it won't work for swimming laps, but I…
  • Thanks. I agree that number sounds high but I don't know how to change it. I'll probably stay a group when I get home. Also, I thought you could use the heart rate monitor in the pool. It says you can with something that transmits 5khz, what ever that is. Is there a way too find out if the loop or polar beat app could pick…
  • I got my Loop in the mail yesterday, today is my first full day with it; I have a bunch of questions if anyone can help. How is the goal calculated? I had to hit close to 17K steps to hit goal today. I'm overweight so could that be why I have a higher step goal than others I've seen? Not sure if it matters but I'm pretty…
  • I think I'm leaning towards doing the same, but I still can't make up my mind. I have several friends doing WW and several friends doing MFP. All of who are losing weight. I think I've decided to try tracking both for a few days to see which I like better. So far as of this morning it was way easier to track using MFP…

  • I just joined weight watchers less than a week ago and happened to stumble across MFP last night. I have read lots and lots of posts from people doing WW switching over to MFP. I haven't been in WW long enough to decide if I like it or not and obviously just joining here last night I don't even know how it works yet. I'm…
