  • Usually on vacation I take a much more laid back approach. if you want to take your scale and measure then go for it. otherwise, remember portion control but enjoy yourself! it won't throw you back up 50 lbs or anything.
  • I also started eating better and exercising around 35. I'm so happy that I did. I was in the best shape of my life when I got married and proceeded to have two back to back pregnancies. Glorious, both of them! I'm now signing up for my first 1/2 marathon in November! Move move move and let your kids see how healthy you…
  • I've been running now for years. Two pregnancies and a hip injury later I'm ready to ramp up to a 13.1 race. I haven't paid yet but I'm running one in November. I'm pretty excited. The race is actually in a HUGE military park in GA and it should be gorgeous. Good luck everyone. I'm open to new friends too :)
  • Comparison is the killer of joy...remember that as you go through this life. you've got a lot of it left to live. they probably have fake breasts
  • beef pot roast with onions, mashed potatoes and green beans. mine was cooked in the crock pot all day but if you have an instantpot you could get it done tonight
  • I grew up in a house of 7. My mother cooked every meal we ever ate in our lives. We never went out to eat. So, I'll share some other ideas on meals as well. As far as the ham I'd add green beans and rolls, maybe corn. Weekly ideas: spaghetti with garlic bread and salad ham, turkey or large chicken with baked beans,…
  • Hi Momma! Morning exercise is the ONLY time I have to exercise right now. I wake up at 5 a.m. while the rest of the house is asleep (husband and 3YO and 2YO) and get in my run and then start getting ready for the day. my husband gets in the shower so he's done by the time I get home. after my shower and routine, get the…
  • Prefer? Afternoon/early evening. Must do b/c of schedule 5:15am. I also can't run after eating or within a short time frame so I just get up and do it in the morning. Before kids and family I'd run after work but now I'm spending as much time with my kids in the afternoon as possible after work.
  • My mother did OPTIFAST back in the 80s and lost a drastic amount of weight in a short period. Didn't last though b/c she went right back to her normal eating after and gained even more than she's lost. If your profile picture is you currently I can't imagine that any sane doctor would have you on such a program. At least…
  • When I started this journey I had frozen salmon and edamame every single night for about a year. I loved it and it never got old with different seasonings. Now that I'm not losing as much I make lots of soups and those go a long way to keeping me satisfied without SO much calories.
  • I don't put food in the "good" or "bad" category. Food is food. yes, some are more healthy and contain less salt and sugar and more protein and may be more "natural". I stick to what my calories allow and that's what I eat. If my calories allow for two slices of pizza for supper then I eat it, regardless if someone else…
  • I've got two under three. I am pretty active and have friends who are very active on the feed. Add me if you'd like.
  • If you have a gym membership then find some group classes to take. You can meet people there.
  • You are on vacation, enjoy it! Know that one week is not going to derail any good effort you have made toward weight loss. If you are anywhere you can walk, then get up right now and go for a walk for 30 minutes or more!
  • Knowing that it's not all or nothing. I cut out zero food groups and I enjoy normal food. I just stay within my calories and work out and burn what I need to remain at my losing calories number. Knowing that you can "screw up" one day and eat like a cow and make up for it the next couple of days. We are all human and…
  • I think the first thing you have to do is quit thinking of food as "good" or "bad". Food is food and is there for the nourishment of our bodies. If you can stay within a healthy calorie intake and work off anything that goes over then you'll stay about the same weight. You can eat your entire calorie allotment in cookies…
  • Start shopping online and picking up your groceries instead of going into the store and walking past the junk. it is amazing how much money and calories I've saved myself over the past year in shopping online and picking up. LIFE CHANGING! As far as sitting all day and then being along the last hour. I hear you. I sit all…
  • Congratulations on the new baby! Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to recuperate before heading into diet and exercise mode. Your body needs a lot of down time right now. When you are ready, pace yourself and know that it'll take time to get back to (or close to) where you were before. Best of luck!
  • I agree... you are overthinking it. Get some chocolate popsicles and don't worry about the next few days.
  • When I was single, which you are b/c you have a boyfriend, not a husband or kids. I worked 8-5 then gym (which was close to my work) for an hour or more then home, shower, cook dinner and relax. Decide to eat dinner later and maybe have him make something, a side or have the meat cooking. I can't imagine that he wouldn't…
  • cottage cheese and fruit granola bars peanut butter toast small serving of ice cream salad w/veggies, cheese and oil and vinegar bowl of oatmeal hummus and veggies cheese sticks
  • Last night was grilled chicken apple sausage dogs with wheat buns and cucumber salad.
  • As far as "dieting" it drives me crazy that people still refer to it like that and that they cut out entire food groups or starve themselves. I have so many family members who do this and it drives me bonkers. It is so hard to keep my mouth shut. Also, when people are always late...really annoying. My time is valuable too,…
  • @rpmkarting Way to go!!! Your success is amazing! I wish I could bottle your post and send it to a couple people in my family who have fad dieted, tried everything and end up right back on the wagon of not eating well and never exercising. I am so proud of you! Keep up the good work. Working out is going to feel amazing…
  • Fettuccini with light Alfredo, garlic, diced ham, peas and asparagus and a Caesar salad.
  • Everything looks yummy!! Last night was chicken and black bean quesadillas with pico, guacamole, and shredded cheese and a side of southwest chopped salad mix
  • I haven't read all the replies but the best chicken is roasted. No matter what the cut and no matter what the seasoning if you roast it the juices all stay in and it's great. Take two chicken breasts, season well, put in a baking dish with some chicken broth or water, put aluminum foil on top. Set oven to 350 or so. Cook…
  • @MsDollyDimple hello! I didn't even start thinking about getting back into shape until my second child was 6 months old. I had two kids in less than two years. Just the fact that you are wanting to exercise and eat right is fabulous. Remember to keep those calories up for the milk supply. Maybe try some yoga or another…
  • Slow cooker sauce beef teriyaki with veggie fried rice and mini spring rolls.
