  • Hi everyone: Had a wonderful trip to Goma, Congo. Loved it even though it was heartbreaking sometimes, lava dust, crowds of people, orphans, widows, refugee camps and all. We supplied big bags of rice and other essentials for two orphanages to last them awhile, and continued building on the new site, plus managed to…
  • Congratulations! You bum. lol (only because I'm jealous, I don't like Christmas - it's way too hard to stay motivated- but you've done it!) Way to go, and keep up the good work!

  • Merry Christmas everyone! And think that will be my post until after Christmas. Have a good one!
  • 1/2 hour walk, 10 minutes stationary bike, 35 minutes elliptical Yesterday just my usual walk. Robin's home! Picked her up 1:30 a.m. at the Greyhound bus stop, then we stayed up and chatted until past 3:00 a.m. Woo hoo, love having my baby home. Not that she'd like to be called baby lol.
  • As Goofy says "Golly" and "Oh Gawrsh". Reality check - I'm as blind as a bat and have to wear glasses. So, for all my pictures, I take them off and then sometimes look slightly stunned. It's because I can't focus. Hee hee. But thanks anyway. :blushing:
  • Hi to both of you! Welcome and good luck!
  • There, changed it. I look miserable, but it's better. hee hee
  • Julie, so sorry your son isn't feeling well! I hope he gets better soon. :flowerforyou:
  • Thanks for sharing, Kim. My best wishes to you and hubby, that you have a long and happy life together! Speak the truth, have patience, and remember that some days you may not actually like your husband but give it a week or a little time and throw in a date or two, and you'll be looking at him again with stars in…
  • Still stuck at 190. Mechanicmom I've been stuck for three weeks, isn't it fun? But at least we are smaller than we used to be. My goal is 185 by December 27th, so think it's time to up the work-outs! Christmas luncheon today at husband's workplace so... I am going to say on here this morning, that I am going to stay within…
  • I went grocery shopping after not eating enough for lunch. There were lovely boxes of chocolates piled high in every direction calling to me, but I remembered very clearly what someone had said on here going through my head...not the exact wording but just the idea of it all starts at the grocery store, and if you don't…
  • Hi, if you go to The Herbs Place on the internet, and type in on their search engine "nails", they have some articles on why nails break. They mention a lack of protein and sulphur (which can be a problem getting enough of if you are vegetarian) with some suggestions. Hope you find what you're looking for.
  • Actually... this post has been quite amusing. I'm smiling right now reading everyone's comments. And I love to blame things on PMS because it really does change some women into raving maniacs... voila! elle frankensteinette is moi! Sorry, French personnes, just massacred your language.
  • We went and bought the Beverly Hillbillies, Bonanza and 50 movies of Family, War, Sci Fi and Westerns each of the oldies from the 1940's to 70's. (That's 200 movies) When there is nothing on the tube, which is quite often as we only have peasant vision, 3 channels, then we pop in an old show.... put another log in the…
  • I look of the pictures of my family and most were like you said, but somehow those durn Scottish genes (much as I love them, they gave me this wide back and Fred Flintstone feet) got mixed in there and there were some pretty powerful squat and short looking little woman with thick waist lines working hard in the prairies.…
  • Good idea to see the dietician! Hope you find success!

  • Ate way too many snacks tonight, so to the elliptical and voila! 45 minutes later burned off all that stuff. Feel good!
  • Hey Beee! Welcome and good luck on your fitnesspal adventure.
  • Hi Nick. Glad you've joined us!
  • I'm just starting up again with exercise after two weeks. So December 1st is a great time to start again. Walked through the snow with my standard poodle for 1/2 hour - it was chilly willy, then biked and elliptical tonight. Finnley was so cute today, he hopped up on this huge boulder like ta-da! look at me, then jumped…
  • Hello and welcome! Best of luck from interior of B.C. :flowerforyou:
  • Keep your chin up, honey! You sound a little bummered out today, so sending lots of love your way,   and hope you have a fantastic week! Get better soon! :flowerforyou:
  • Stuck at 20 lbs. lost. The last two weeks I haven't lost, because I haven't been entering my food and have been falling into bed exhausted at 8:00 p.m. Glad this course is over!:ohwell: But today, I'm back on track ...chug a chug a....
  • Hi Char Char: You can find lots of good books on following an eating plan in second hand book stores and follow their ideas and recipes, as long as it is balanced. Some people on here eat 6 small meals a day instead of 3 and that works for them. My eating plan is basically making sure my protein is the size of my palm for…
  • Thank you Cheryl for your quote. It's exactly what I needed today. You made me cry, you bum, lol. Hugs :flowerforyou:
  • I eat in the evenings, when my willpower is nil because I'm tired, and if I am stressed on top of it, re: a really tough day, then I really overeat. It's almost like your body is totally out of whack and craves comfort because it is stressing - so usually lots of carbs. Unfortunately, it helps initially, but then you…
  • Made my goal weight for Thanksgiving even though I've gained 2.5 lbs in last 4 days. Tough week this week. Tired, exhausted, no time to even make dinner, so just eat something quick like frozen pizza thrown in oven, do homework and fall into bed. Haven't been tracking on here because no time. No exercise either. So I'm…
  • Yesterday, just strength training for 20 minutes. Today, a walk along some cliffs for 1/2 hour. Icy on logs, so stayed off them, didn't want to slide off the cliff. - little crystal droplets on all the trees - frozen but pretty. We had to bushwhack a bit which is always great for burning calories. Then raked leaves in the…
  • Hey Myranda, I know how it feels to be down on yourself. Especially when food sneaks up on you and hits you with a whammy for the day. I usually screw up once or twice a week, but I'm still losing weight. I make up for it in exercise if I can or feel like it, but if not ... tomorrow is always another day. And it still…
