Someone on my feed logged 248 calories for playing flute for an hour. Really?

Car jumping
I had to jump my car 3x today. This is not something I normally do, so I'd love to log it. Should I log it as "Jumping jacks" or "Rope jumping"? Also, this happened over the course of 4 hours, so would I log it for 4 hours, or just the actual time I spent doing the actual task? Oh, and I had to carry the heavy battery…

Leg machines
Of the common leg machines, is there a difference in which muscles are worked more, or other machine-specific benefits? In particular I have in mind: Leg press Hack squat Leg sled Smith machine (squat) I am well aware that a lot of people here don't like leg machines, and their reasons. I'm not here to debate that, so…

Tips on how to request friends
I would like to offer a couple of suggestions when you send people friend requests. Read their profile first. Write a short note that mentions why you want to friend them (like you read a certain post of theirs) and share a couple brief things about how much you want to lose, etc. It's not really a friendship if you just…

What is this guy's goal?
What is this guy in the weight room trying to accomplish? He comes in, loads up a barbell, lifts it straight over his head with both arms while a staff member times him. He grunts and yells as long as he can hold it. Then after putting it down, he unloads the bar, all the while yelling, and leaves the weight room. End of…

Training program for hikers?
There are lots of training programs for running, cycling, etc, but are there any training programs for walkers, specifically to increase your ability for elevation gain? I can easily walk 8-10 miles on the flats, I can do 4-5 miles up to 2000 ft gain, and I would like to get to 10 miles, 3000 ft. Then I could hike just…

MFP Calories upon waking
I've noticed that MFP does not give me my full calorie allottment first thing in the morning, which is usually between 7-9 am when I first look at it. I understand how the app adjusts calories all day long based on your activity level, but why don't I start the day with a full bank?

RMR vs NEAT
My hydrotank test today gave me 1613 for RMR and says its 70% of my daily burn which works out to 2300. MFP gives me 1600 for NEAT in maintenance. That's probably not too far off, plus 200-300 exercise cals. Any insight into what seems to be a huge discrepancy and how does the body fat truck estimate RMR? TIA.

Reading glasses in the weight room?!
Do you have to wear reading glasses in the weight room to read your routine and record your results? I do and it's highly annoying! One more thing to deal with in addition to card, pencil (or phone), towel, and water!

Beets
What's a good way to fix fresh beets so they don't taste like canned? I'd like to try making some for variety, but hubby refuses to touch canned beets. He said he would "try" fresh cooked.

Older crock pots
When crock pots first came out in the 70s, we were told to always make sure they are half full of liquid to cover the heating element. Nowdays I see lots of recipes than don't use much liquid at all. Has there been a change in how the pots are made so you no longer need as much liquid, or is just that that idea was…
