Tried the Peep Cleanse
didnt work. Now what? I even tried washing it down with a large sugar-free Slurpee but I feel like the chemicals in there might've stalled my weightloss. HALP.

Throughly Annoyed at my Inability to Binge Properly
Just posting an odd little ray of sunshine for those of you afraid of backsliding. I have lost around 50lbs and yesterday in a fit of feeling sorry for myself (I'm stalled, yep I know why) I decided to say "Screw it! I'm eating a tub of ice cream!" So I went to the store and bough a carton of chocolate chip cookie dough.…

A question for bakers
I've use the recipe builder for meals with great success, but I'm wondering if it can be used similarly for baking. Do the chemical rxns that happen during the baking process change the calorie count of the raw ingredients by any significant amount?

Biology Basics
Hey folks, thought that I would start a thread of good places to go for basic biological knowledge. While it's always great to cite papers for new research, it's not always useful when you are trying to get the bigger picture. There is no one paper on how the liver functions, but there are places that you can go where all…

Running and glycogen stores
I mentioned to a friend that I am running a 5K on Monday. He suggested that I "eat my carbs" before the run so I've got lots of yummy glycogen to burn. I suggested that because I'm overweight I don't want to consume ready energy, I want the run to consume some fat stores and that I'd rather eat protein afterwards to…

Friday Toddler Question
my toddler has decided that I'm not eating enough and is regularly trying to smush sandwiches into my face. I've tried telling him "mommys full". I've tried swatting it away. I've tried putting the sandwich on his head but that just leads to flying sandwiches. What do I dooooo? (Happy Friday folks)

Weights and size
so, I'm a lady. I started at 235, I'm down to 205. I've been here before, the difference this time is that I'm lifting (light for now, I'm weak!). I know I'm smaller than I was, but I feel smaller than I when I was last around 200. My clothing fits different and I just appear narrower. Finally, the question: does lifting…

Yet another plateau query
nope, I haven't hit one yet, and yes I used the search function! There's much talk of plateaus, but what is a plateau? How many weeks of being the same weight before you call it and begin to make changes? Do you take things like measurements into consideration, or just weight? MFP, I leave it to you!

Suggested Calorie intake question
does MFP update your suggested calorie intake as you loose weight or is this something I should be doing manually? If manually, can I just get the goals to "recalculate"? Thanks! And sorry for the weird question, I don't have permission to post in the tech help board :/

Who has kept it off
I love seeing before and after photos, but I have one question, how long have you been at "after". I really can't afford to bounce back, and I'd love to see/hear from some folks who did it once and did it good!

An app to record exercises
Does one exist? I've got a pencil and paper, but I'm lazy! I tried using MFP, but it counts kcal spent, which I don't really want, I just want to keep track of what I'm up to Any suggestions?

My random motivation for the day
Once upon a time, Back in the day there was a band called The Band and they put on a concert called "The Last Waltz The Band invited all their friends to sing in this concert. One of these friends was named Van Morrison. Van used to sing lots of songs, but he was older now and had fallen out of style. He had never been…

Suddenly Starving
Hi, so I'm on day 55 here, and I'm doing great. 25lbs down, feeling good and active, if not a bit achy and, up until recently I was rarely hungry. Maybe a little peckish here and there, but for the past couple of days I've been HUNGRY! I'm trying to fill up on some healthy stuff that's high kcal (currently munching trail…

Bathing suits that mean business
I'm guessing this is the right forum for this, feel free to nix if it isn't! So, this year I want to swim. I enjoy running and I enjoy lifting but I LOVES me some swimming. I have also decided that I no longer have any ducks to give on how I look in a bathing suit. Problem is I don't have a good bathing suit. My current is…

Lower back pain, suggestions?
First things first, I don't think I'm properly injured. The aches came on gradually, they just woulnt go away! They limit my mobility insomuch as I'm stiff. Mostly hurts to sit and bend and it kinda feels like muscle spasms. Second, I am in a weights class run by a trainer and I will be talking to him today because this is…

Mini success
First stats, I'm 35, one fine lady and I started this whole thing 5 weeks ago at 235, I am currently at 217 and change. No one (save my husband) has been able to see any difference yet, even I can't tell, but I felt better and clothing got looser so i was happy. My usual office attire is a dress and cardigan. My 3x…

Lightheaded at the Gym
I keep getting lightheaded at the gym when I am lifting and standing. It's like my body has to choose to send blood to my muscles or my brain, and it chooses muscles every time! It never happens when I run or do floor exercises. Stats: I'm obese, 220ish at 5'8". I'm not terribly fit but I ran 5ks last year though they took…

Heavy lifting. Huh.
I'm interested. Just one thing. How heavy is heavy? Are we talking 15, 30 lbs? Are we talking Olympic weight stuff? I'm a lady btw, and I'm assuming that makes a difference, but really, when does lifting become heavy lifting? (This question bought to you by dumb newbie of the month club!)
