Boston Marathon
Wow! So I have the pleasure of spending the day with a client who... Wait for it... Ran the 100th Boston Marathon at age 65 and ran his very last Marathon at age 76! How’s that for motivation :)

Bone broth question
I've always made broth from scraps and bones. I was taught that the broth was done once all the marrow had cooked out of the bones. Is this not bone broth? What differentiates bone broth from regular old broth?

First day back at the gym
Today was my first day back at the gym since June 15th and maaaan... it was hard. I've been out of action because of Lyme's disease (caught early enough to be treated with antibiotics). I'm thinking I will continue to eat at maintenance until I get back into my normal gym routine, then restart my calorie deficit. My diary…

Mindset change
So... bad news first. I went way over my calorie limit several days in a row. I injured my hamstring (again, grrr), so I can't run for a few weeks. TOM came right around these two things and brought with it new and improved cravings. Thanks, Mother Nature. I really did enjoy the crackers dipped in salt, but I probably…

Trail runners- Some questions.
Hi all. So, I am now head over heels in love with trail running. I live in Virginia near the Chesapeake and ,as every summer, we will be having days of >90% humidity and millions upon millions of mosquitos. Some questions for you: 1.) What sunscreen do you recommend? I have had skin cancer so this is important to me. 2.)…

So... I'm an idiot.
First- Thanks! I've been doing pretty good here thanks to MFP and all you guys. I started C25K and love it. Here's the problem: Yesterday, I was showing one of my kids how to do a cartwheel and pulled my right hamstring. So lay it out for me, all you fitness smarties. How long until I can resume C25K? Anything I can do to…

Honest appraisal, please
As the title states :) Could you look at my workouts and give me an honest appraisal? Too much / not enough? Everything is accurate except the "brisk walking" bit. That is actually 5 miles on the treadmill at 4 mph and 10% incline; I do have to hold onto the TM for balance as I have some inner ear issues. I've never had a…

Smoothies
I've recently started bringing a blueberry/banana/almond milk smoothie with me to the gym. I have noticed that I hit my goals without as much fatigue, especially squats and leg presses. I know this has a lot of carbs and I definitely don't want to derail my wt loss. Have any of you had a similar experience? Should I just…

I'm starving! What gives?
I ate a lot of calories yesterday. After I got home from the gym today, I had a huge calorie dense lunch. Now it's barely 1630 and I'm very hungry. My diary is open. I'm still losing weight, although it seems to bounce up and down a lot. I don't want to derail my weight loss, but I want FOOOOD! Thoughts?
