Steps won’t be tracked
Got back onto MFP and I noticed my steps aren’t being saved. Instead when I go to look at my steps it’ll only show my steps from October. Any reason this might be the case?

Might be a stupid question
So this is basically the opposite of the “I gained weight, did I just gain muscle” trope. Is it possible to lose weight and basically only lose muscle? Or is it that the body only loses muscle once a deficit is too large? I’m asking mostly out of curiosity and not really from any personal experience. I got to thinking…

Apple Watch Accuracy
So, I got an Apple Watch for Christmas and have been using it when I skateboard. If anyone has an Apple Watch, how accurate would you say the calorie burn estimates are? Today I skated about 4 miles and it said I burned 200 calories, which doesn’t seem too realistic for a 30 minute session. Yesterday I skated quite a…

60 lbs down, first goal done
When I first started losing weight I figured that 180 lbs would be a good number to aim for. I weighed 240 lbs and was fed up with it when I began to have health issues for the first time in my life due to my weight. My father is obese and I see how much of a struggle it is for him to do certain tasks. I never wanted to be…

Losing 1% per week
I've heard a general rule that you should only lose 1% of your body fat per week. I'm still in the overweight category for my height at 175 lbs. Does this mean that currently I could lose about 1.7 lbs safely? I've heard conflicting info. I've heard that once your within 30 lbs of your goal weight then you should expect to…

Healthy weight range
Currently I weigh 187 lbs as a 5'6 male. I'm about to break out of the obese weight range and enter the overweight range. I want to be at a healthy weight, so websites suggest that I get down to 155. Im down to do it, I've lost a little over 50 already, so what's 30 more. My family has been telling me how skewed those…

How necessary is strength training?
So, I've been dieting since the beginning of this year and lost 50 pounds. Still got about 40 more to go, but I'm stoked with the results already. I'm still overweight, but not like I used to be. I have done zero strength training though. My only exercise is skateboarding about an hour to two hours about 5 times a week. I…

Do minor injuries cause water retention?
This is just out of curiosity because I've been skateboarding, which comes with a lot of bumps and bruises. I noticed that the scale isn't moving much now, but I'm not too worried about it. I just would like to know for future reference.

How weight gain works
I'm on vacation and have eaten about 3000-3500 calories each day these past two days. I'm only going to gain about a pound of fat right? I'm low balling my daily calorie burn to be 2000, so at most my net calories gained these past two days would be like 3500 right? 3500 calories would be a pound of fat correct? I know the…

199.8!
I started losing weight around the middle of January because I was just feeling fed up with not being able to take full advantage of my body. I wanted to be able to keep up with friends when we go out of town and be able to skateboard around my city without feeling so self conscious and so tired. My starting weight was…

Working out and eating
So I recently started working out a ton more because I picked up skateboarding again. I'll go at it for about an hour to two hours and it's a great workout. Problem is I tend to eat a ton after. These past couple weeks I've been maintaining at 208 when I've been consistently losing about 2 pounds a week. At first I thought…

12 lbs in four weeks
So I've lost 12 lbs in a little over four weeks. I'm 5'6 and went from 222 to 210, but I'm asking if this is a healthy amount to lose? I frequent these forums and people often say if you're losing quickly then you're losing muscle. I eat 1500 calories a day and work out through skateboarding at least 30 minutes a day,…
