Gastroparesis and trying to lose weight
Does anyone else have digestive motility issues, like gastroparesis? This is where your stomach muscles prevent proper stomach emptying. This can be chronic or people can have symptoms "flare-ups." I get symptom flair-ups and my digestion will basically become very slow. A lot of people lose weight, but some people find it…

Goal: Lose 15 lbs & exercise for chronic illness
Hello, this is my first day on the app. I'm 28-years-old and have a chronic illness called dysautonomia. My autonomic nervous system can be dysfunctional and cause an abnormal rise in heart rate upon standing (POTS). I have a small frame and am 5'3". In the past year I gained 15 lbs and virtually stopped exercising. I'm…

Skinny fat
I'm 5'3 and have a petite frame, but I've gained about 20 lbs of unwanted weight from over-eating and not exercising. When fully dressed I look okay, maybe even "thin" to some people. But I know my body fat percentage is out of proportion and even though my arms and calves are thin- my waist and lower body is carrying all…

How to lose water weight?
I'm pretty new to all of this, but I feel like when I hydrate a lot my body holds on to the water and I look a little "puffy" (for lack of a better term). I obviously notice this most around my stomach. I know we all want to stay hydrated, but what if you have an event coming up and you don't want to appear as if you've…

My first set of side by side "progress" pictures
So I'm 5'3" and had gained 15 lbs of unwanted weight, I went up two pants sizes, and lost muscle tone from not exercising. I want to be healthier. I know I'm not "overweight," but carrying 15 extra lbs on a short and petite frame feels uncomfortable for me. Also, I just want my body to be stronger. I want to be lean, but I…

Can eating one day of "maintenance" calories jumpstart my metabolism??
I'm 5'3 and currently trying to lose 15 lbs. Due to a medical condition I stick to pretty light activity like yoga, walking, or toning exercises. I've been consuming between 1,200-1,400 calories per day. My goal is 1,400/day, but I usually consume a little less than that. Yesterday I ate an entire Chipotle burrito (which…

Anyone else a former take-out/delivery food "addict?"
Take-out, delivery, and eating out may be one of my biggest weaknesses. Part of the reason I gained my unwanted weight was because I discovered courier services like Postmates and was constantly having food delivered- for the convenience and just because my favorite restaurants were available at the push of a button.…

How long did it take you to lose your first 15lbs?
Just as the title asks: How long did it take you to lose your first 15 lbs? Were there any "game changers" to your diet/exercise routine/anything else that helped you lose the first 15?

My face looks more round from gaining weight
It's interesting that one of the first places I noticed I was gaining weight was in my face because my cheeks and jawline now look more "round" than oval. Whenever I'm taking a picture I notice how my jawline doesn't look as defined anymore. Is there anyone else who can relate? I can't wait to reach my goal weight just to…

How do you log complicated recipe calories?
If you, for example, have a slice of "grandma's homemade carrot cake with cream cheese frosting," how do you figure out the calories? Or is it just a matter of estimating to the best of your ability?

Special occasions make this feel impossible
I'm struggling. When I'm at home during the week and have 100% control over my meals and portions, I do okay. On the weekend when it's someone's birthday, a housewarming party, wedding, basically any celebration with food... I fall off the wagon and hate myself. If I have a piece of cake then I feel like I ruined my diet…

Do you all stop eating after a certain time?
I know some people say they won't eat or snack after 7:00 PM. What do other people do? Is there benefit to doing this when it comes to losing weight or health in general?

What's up with feeling lightheaded? When will this pass?
I've been sticking to my 1,200-1,300 calories per day. I keep it balanced (example: oatmeal, blackberries, walnuts, chicken, rice, asparagus, etc...). My current exercise routine is very light (light yoga and brief walks). So what is causing this lightheadedness? Is it because my body is adjusting to a calorie decrease? Is…

Is there a way to adjust your own calorie goal?
So when I put in my stats the app defaults to the amount of calories I should consume in a day. Is there a way to change the number? Even on the lowest setting of losing weight (.5 lbs per week) the calorie count is still lower than what I personally want to aim for. I feel I need slightly more than 1,330 calories per day.
