Any benefit to adding salt to preworkout drink? Do you add salt to your PWO?
Does it really help with getting muscle pumps? How much would you add?

Is it possible to look skinnier without seeing the numbers move on the scale?
I.e. reduce bodyfat % but still maintain a relatively constant weight?

Is an A1c of 5.5 "good"? Not diagnosed as a diabetic (yet).
I just checked it using an A1c kit that I bought online on Amazon.com. The last time I had my sugar checked was two years ago at the doctor and it was 6.2 (I think pre-diabetic).

Do you think getting a DXA scan is worth it to calculate bodyfat % (especially if starting out)?
I am relatively new in my training program. I saw a place here in downtown Vancouver that offers a DXA scan for $120 Canadian. Anyone here had it done and do you think it was worth it? I don't trust bodyfat calipers or bodyfat scales. It would be nice to have an accurate baseline to start off with and the follow-up at a…

Cooking oil. Coconut oil or other healthy alternative?
Hello, I am eating healthier and exercising nowdays and am looking to switching cooking oils. I currently use olive oil (the Fillipo Berio brand) but want to switch to a healthy alternative. I tried using coconut oil (virgin, unrefined) to make eggs today but I found the taste of coconuts so empowering that I couldn't eat…

If type 2 diabetic, is it okay to eat a sugary "cheat-meal" once a week (i.e. McDonald's McFlurry)?
Let's say for the rest of the week, the diet is on point and healthy (low carbs, high protein, lots of veggies, etc), and the diabetic is exercising regularly. Is it okay to have one "cheat meal" per week? For example, a McDonald's Mcflurry, or a can of soda, or white rice/pasta,, etc just once a week as a "reward"?

Stupid question (about reading nutritional label for peanuts).
I'm reading nutrition label for a package of peanuts. The nutrition label says "Per 1 cup, 56 grams, edible portion". So, does "edible portion" not include the shell? I don't know anybody that eats the shells. How do you weigh this out? Do you weigh 56 grams of peanuts with the shells or 56 grams of peanuts without the…

Anyone on here that actually does NOT have a Facebook account?
I deleted mine 7 months ago and don't regret it one bit. My mind feels so much clearer and free from all the negativity, inaneness, shallowness, and drama (politics, selfies, gossip, farmville invites, pokes, etc). Besides, I don't want my co-workers and employer spying on me on there. You?

I lost 12 pounds in 8 weeks! Good Pace?
I still have 24 more pounds to go. I'm a 6'0 male and currently weigh 214 Ibs. Trying to get down to 190 Ibs. I lost a lot in the beginning, but around the 3-4th week, the weight loss started tapering off and not as great as it was initially. Is this normal? Thanks

Polar Flow Fitness/Heart Rate Monitors. How accurate are they?
I do a bootcamp workout 5 days a week for about an hour. I recently started wearing the Polar A300 Fitness/Heart rate monitor with both the wrist monitor and the chest strap for the last 2 days during my workout, and it's been stating that I've been burning about 800 calories for about 1 hour. That seems too good to be…

Can you still lose weight by eating McDonalds occasionally?
Like once every week or 2 weeks as long as my daily caloric intake is lower then my body maintenance, and if I exercise 3x/week? Surely, a quarter pounder burger & fries once in a while won't make much difference? Or do you completely avoid fast food altogether?

Should I take creatine supplement if I'm beginning strength training or should I wait later on?
Hi all, I am new to the gym and just recently started exercising and paying attention to my diet 2 weeks ago. I am currently in a 6 week bootcamp class Mon, Wed, Friday which I started on Sept. 18th. Just wondering if it's a good idea for me to take creatine supplement now for a beginner like me for strength training or…
