Stupid question (about reading nutritional label for peanuts).

I'm reading nutrition label for a package of peanuts. The nutrition label says "Per 1 cup, 56 grams, edible portion". So, does "edible portion" not include the shell? I don't know anybody that eats the shells.
How do you weigh this out? Do you weigh 56 grams of peanuts with the shells or 56 grams of peanuts without the shells?

I'd weigh without the shells.0

Only weigh what you eat. In your case, that would be peanuts without shells, which account to about 3/4 of the total weight.
Or weigh them in full and then subtract the shells to get an idea of how much you ate (post-factum).0
