Is an A1c of 5.5 "good"? Not diagnosed as a diabetic (yet).

I just checked it using an A1c kit that I bought online on Amazon.com. The last time I had my sugar checked was two years ago at the doctor and it was 6.2 (I think pre-diabetic).

You may still want to have it and assessed by a doctor but yes, 5.5 is awesome. Most doctors want to see readings below 7 (diabetes) or less than 6 (pre-diabetes)0
