Ways to expedite water-weight loss?
- Reducing the calories + reducing carb intake + reducing sodium intake - Upping the water intake - Exposing oneself to warm/hot environment (sun/sunbathing, sauna, etc.) - Working out/being more active (walking, etc.) - Sleeping decently - Caffeine/Stevia (both - diuretics) - Also eating less volume-wise (i.e. do not…

Choosing the maintaining weight
How do you go about it? Before, I have thought that body fat percentage is the king and that as a man you should aim for ten percentage After reaching ten percentage with some muscle mass I have decided to go for the BMI - if under 18.5 is anorexic I will then maintain 19 to be as lean as possible while being healthy; in…

Eating cabbage to keep satiated/other foods?
I am a big eater but trying to lose some weight. Cabbage seems like a good solution - it is low in calories and somewhat cheap: an average head costs about a Euro, weighs one kilogram and provides ~250 calories; reckon that it is possible to split it in two meals (given the sheer volume). Thoughts/alternatives? I used to…

Negative effects of eating surplus amounts of cabbage?
Currently, I am eating a head per day - 1000-1500 grams. This is split into 3/4 meals. Supposedly, vegetables are healthy, but are there any (hidden) negative effects that I am not aware off? Like, proper (negative) ones? To clarify, I am a volume eater and trying to shed some weight - cabbage helps to stay satiated.

What is the highest amount of calories that you have consumed in one day ("cheat-day"?)?
5'10", 135 pounds male here - for me it is about just over 5000 calories (I fast until lunch and begin then (on my, "cheat-day"), as to to not eat "too much" :-) ).

How much calories does drinking cold water burn?
I keep seeing estimates that it is about 10 calories for 500ml. While we are on this topic, what about chewing gum? I have also read about 10 calories for each hour.

"Cheat-days" and body-fat weight-gain
Hey! :-) Saw an interesting video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdaM3f_odqI Basically, this guy says that only a third of the surplus on a "cheat-day" goes towards body-fat storage. For example, if I eat 5000 calories at a TDEE of 2500 then only a third of 2500 surplus will go into fat - (2500/3500/3 pounds) 108 grams…

Coffee (Nescafe Classic) caffeine content?
I have decided to use coffee on my non-workout days instead of a PWO to save some money (it is at least twice cheaper, as well as me only needing the caffeine (and not the other ingredients - when not hitting the gym)). I am using a 5cc scoop (from MyProtein) to measure and a scale (Salter, so should be decent, although…

Recomp or bulk after a cut?
I consider myself (or the peak condition) intermediate at best After cutting for ten months I have almost arrived to the goal weight I was prioritizing the diet but lost some strength due to some days missing the gym The looks are decent but the performance did slightly drop On top of the general consensus to hit the…

Asian/Japanese/sushi all-you-can-eat buffet, "cheat-day"?
Hello. :-) If I am planning to go to such a place, what are the recommendations of what to eat to minimize the fat-gain? I was thinking lean protein (chicken) and grain carbohydrates (like sushi with rice). Also some vegetables to minimize the total calories. Also, to drink some fluids just before to feel more satiated. I…

Body fat percentage VERSUS Body Mass Index (BMI) for evaluating progress?
If my goal is to be lean and healthy, which one of the two is better? First, I went by BF but it appeared that to achieve a lean physique I would then be considered underweight by BMI; therefore, I went with BMI, attempting to stay about 19. Would you say it is sustainable to be considered underweight by BMI to have a…
