I keep seeing estimates that it is about 10 calories for 500ml.
While we are on this topic, what about chewing gum? I have also read about 10 calories for each hour.

Majoring in the minors, dude. It doesn't make enough difference to matter.15

This is so far beyond insignificant it's not even in the same conversation as other things that are insignificant.
I've seen a few of your posts, and while you're leaner than the majority of MFP (and thus some of the smaller details might matter more to you), it doesn't seem like you have a good base of knowledge about weight loss and body composition. Rather than grasping at straws and magazine headlines, why not try to educate yourself a bit so you have some context for some of these types of claims?

Not enough to worry about. Consider a hidden bonus1

Double what you burn in a single breath of air is my guess. Or another way to say it not enough to count. Hey that gives me an idea, how many calories will I burn logging a drink of water?0

One calorie (small calories, 1/1000 of the Calories used to measure energy in food) is the energy needed to raise 1 gram (1 ml more or less) of water one degree Celsius. Assuming ice water at about 3 degrees and raising it to body temperature (I'm going with 37 degrees for that, not sure if core body temperature is different from what's measured with an oral or axillary thermometer), we're talking about .034 (food) Calories per ml, or 17 calories per 500 ml.
I'd rather drink my water (or coffee or tea) at whatever temperature feels comfortable in the current weather or indoor environment, and not worry about whether I'm burning an extra 8 calories or so per drinking glass of water.2 -
Depends on how heavy the glass is, whether or not you use a straw...
^^ what they said ^^ It is beyond insignificant.1
