Milk/Calcium and meds
Hello I am reading lots of conflicting info regarding milk and hypo meds. It says on the interweb than you shouldn't have calcium within a few hours of taking your meds. Is this just calcium suppliments or things like milk? I love a bowl of porridge with semi skimmed milk in the morning. Even if I leave it until an hour…

Problem with protein shakes
Hello. Tried my first protein shake today. Chocolate flavour with 1% fat milk. Tasted fine. Then about 60 minutes later I felt sick as a dog and vomited. I ate some toast but vomited it all up. All I could taste was the shake. I drink milk fine so I am not lactose intolerant. I am frightened to try it again in case I have…

Frustrated by my eating more lifestyle
Hello I have been losing weight since the middle of April last year. I started at 231 lbs and 50% body fat. I am 5ft 4, a large frame and 40 years old. For the first 7 months of my healthy eating plan I was eating between 1200 and 1400 daily but closer to 1200. I have a fairly sedentary job and exercised 3 times a week. My…

Will this workout still work if I cut some exercises?
Hello. Someone posted this link on another thread. http://www.muscleandstrength.com/workouts/dumbbell-only-home-or-gym-fullbody-workout.html I would like to give it a whirl but don't have a weights bench or pull up bar. If I cut out the lull up exercises and bench press will I still get the same results? Just looking to…

Eating at BMR but still want to lose 1lbs pw
Hello I am doing well on my weight loss journey and it won't be long until I hit my target. I have decided I now want to ensure I eat my BMR. It seems at 1200 cals over the past 6 months I may not be eating enough to keep muscle and burn fat. So my BMR is approx 1424. My Tdee is around 1700 on non workout days. So the…

Body fat again (sorry)
When I started this process second week in August I weighed 231 lbs and 48% body fat. I am now 179lbs but still around the 42% fat mark. That's a lot! I have lost inches and gone from a uk size 24 to a 16 but cannot understand why my fat percentage is so high. I do cardio with strength training at least 3 times a week, is…

Why so much difference in calories allowed?
Hello I started my journey 5ft 4 and 231lbs. This was the second week in August this year. MFP allowed me 1200 calls per day as a base. I want to get down to about 140 lbs. I am seeing many people on here with a base of 1700 calls and some over 2000 cals with no exercise with a similar amount of weight to lose as me.…

Hi Fitness Folk I started my journey just over 2 months ago. Since then I have lost 30lbs which I am really happy with. I mainly stick to 1200 calories a day, sometimes go up a bit if I am still hungry but no more than about 1400. I have been going to the gym the past few weeks doing cardio and weights and burning an…

Fry Light and parsnips/sweet potatoes
Hi fitness folks I have been using fry light (uk) for months but no matter what I do I cannot get my roast parsnips or sweet potatoes to taste as nice as using vegetable oil. I put the parsnips in for 30-40 mins and they always come out really dry, no crunch and still slightly raw. Same with the sweet potatoes. I have also…

Walking MPH query
Evening :-) So I do some walking at work either before i start or at lunch. I am 5ft 4" and only have ickle legs. The fastest I can go is around 3.6mph without jogging (according to my iphone app). My husband is 5ft 10" and always manages to get well over 4mph. Might be a silly question but is it because he has longer…

HRM and walking
Hello. Thinking about getting a Polar heart rate monitor so I can take out a bit of the guesswork with how many calories I burn. This will work fine with cardio work during a DVD etc but will it still give me an idea of calories burnt when I do an early morning walk? I will use my iPhone for the distance and pace etc.

Fire 30 too hard!
I have been eating healthily and getting fit via dvds and walking for 7 weeks now. I thought I would give Turbo Fire a try. Did the Fire 30 and could only manage 15 minutes of it. It sure was a killer. I worked my hardest and was so disappointed I could only manage half of it. I am 209lbs and obviously not ready for Turbo…
