quick q about rests in strength training
I am doing body strength training (did Nerdfitness and now on You Are Your Own Gym which I LOVE!) and really enjoying it. I am a busy Mum of 2 so work out in quiet times at home. However, as you can imagine, frequently need to stop to attend the needs of little people! Will it impact on my program if I stop for ten minutes…

Eating at TDEE starting tomorrow! Eek!
I have decided I am happy where I am weight-wise now so tomorrow is the start of me eating at TDEE! I plan to add 100 calories each week til I get there then give it at least a month before making adjustments if need be. Is anyone else at maintenance and how did it go for you when you started...Colleen x

Running apps
I've just got back from my first proper run and am surprised at how much fitter I am than a few months ago when I first tried - yay! Anyway, inspired, I wondered if anyone can recommend any good apps for iphone for recording speed, distance etc so I know what to log. I have a pedometer one on there but I'm clueless to…

DVD's that mix up workouts...
I've done 30DS and half way through RI30 but I must confess, I get booooooored of doing the same workout in the same order for days on end. Please can some of you more knowledgeable folk tell me if there are any home workouts where you chop and change the workout in the week...I'm up for anything and notice things like…

Rest days
Just checking, does everyone have a rest day... I tend to do strength one day, cardio the next and don't usually mix them up on the same day due to lack of time but sometimes I just don't feel like it! Anyone else have a day with NO exercise... (apologies for no question marks - silly laptop!) :)

BF% and inches success :)
I did, as a lot of us have before being 'enlightened' ;) , crash dieted, lost a load of weight but was hungry, tired and just fed up. I then stopped losing weight and had barely any energy for workouts. So, I did some reading up and thanks to people like Dan and others who post about TDEE and strength training I have in…

Dip in belly above bellybutton
I just noticed after doing some body weight strength training that I now have a 'dip' above my belly button. I have a far bit of flab there still so not convinced it's definition lol (i'm 114lbs but 25% bf and 4'11" tall). Anyone else have this or know why! Thanks!

What else could I be doing
First of all a huge thank you to the community on here as although I've only actually asked a few questions the amount I have learned from trawling the search function has been just life changing. I am looking at food in a whole new way and exercise even more so! Ok, so gushing aside I am: 4'11" 114lbs (start weight was…

Which % deficit from TDEE help please
Hi :) I apologise if this has been asked previously but I am basically near enough the weight I want to be now (but ideally would like to lose another 5-10lbs slowly) and feeling great after discovering I now love exercise! I have set my macros to 40-30-30 as would like to fuel my workouts nicely and am enjoying the new…

Low carb breakfast ideas please (UK)
Hi :) I've been having porridge every day for ages now but noticed my carbs are fairly high (usually have rice or jacket potato for lunch) and wondered if people could spam me with their favourite (and hopefully quick and easy!) low-carb breakfasts please :) Thank you x

Recommend me your reasonably priced trainers for a newbie!
Well I'm not that new to it but I'm really getting in my 30 Day Shred right now and am also looking to do real life exercise classes too but my trainers are rubbish! I'm sliding all over our wooden floors and getting sore knees presumably cos they are so old they take no impact. So I went into a sports shop today and I was…

Please recommend me your scales!
I think my cheapy scales might need replacing as I find that (even on the same floor surface each time) that my weight can change between 5lbs! I don't mean the daily fluctuations which are natural just that if I weigh myself 3 times I can get radically different weights come up within seconds of each other! What are your…

Do times of meals/exercise affect weight loss?
I was just thinking about my iifestyle and I eat breakast, a light lunch ie soup etc and a larger but healthy dinner. I do almost all my exercise during the day. I was just pondering whether it would make any difference switching my larger meal to my lunchtime and the lighter one to the evening one? Basically, I am pretty…

Newbie here!
Just realised I haven't done this yet. I have been calorie counting/exercising more for nearly 3 weeks now. I am very small at 4'11" and find excess weight shows fast! After 2 children my body has changed beyond all recognition and I'm ready to reclaim y pre-baby body! I started off weighing 130lbs. After 2 weeks I lost…
