question about cauliflower pizza crust
Hi everyone! I am making cauliflower pizza crust tonight. After finding out it had to be "riced", I went out and bought a hand grater. I don't have a microwave though, so how does "8 minutes in the microwave" translate to either a stovetop or oven?

Several months gone....
I was doing soooooo well, and had lost almost 80 pounds. I went on vacation in May to visit a friend, and I did AMAZING while I was there since we are both trying to live healthier lifestyles. I even lost about 8 pounds in that week and a half with all the hiking we did. I have no idea why, but as soon as I got back home I…

Does anyone know how to make a good vegetarian-friendly bean spread for sandwiches and wraps WITHOUT using a food processor or blender (I have neither). I have a can of white kidney beans that are dying to be turned into a bean spread though!

QUICK: I need an egg recipe!!
I am getting ready to make a casserole with eggs for supper (which I will have in the oven sometime in the next two hours), but I don't have any cheese. I am probably going to throw in what veggies I have on hand (broccoli, peppers, mushrooms, onion), and the eggs. I might also add some potatoes. What I DON'T HAVE is…

Cauliflower pizza crust question
I just bought a huge head of cauliflower for this, and then I realized all the recipes I find are looking for riced cauliflower. How frustrating...I don't have a ricer or a food processor, and I am not going out to buy one for this. Soooooo....has anyone made the crust out of MASHED cauliflower before, and if so, did it…

Any vegetarian recipes for tempeh?
Hi everyone! I have been looking for a LONG time for tempeh, and FINALLY found some at a specialty store a couple of days ago. I have wanted to try it very much, buuuut I don't really have any ideas of what to do with it. Can anyone offer some recipes for tempeh? I would probably prefer ones that don't require large slabs…

Chocolate peanut butter protein balls
I just found this recipe online and thought I would share it. FYI, I JUST made these now so I haven't eaten them but I taste-tested a bit of the "batter" and they seem great to me and sooo easy to make! 1/3 cup natural peanut butter 1/4 cup honey 1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder 3 tbsp ground flaxseed 3 tbsp dark…

how much to eat?
I am having a bit of trouble figuring out how much I am supposed to eat. If I don't exercise, it's easy...I just eat my total calories. I am trying to get more exercise in though, and I thought that meant I am supposed to eat until I NET 1330 (what I am supposed to eat to lose weight without exercise). That seemed logical,…

Pet peeve
I have a huge pet peeve online, and will probably get yelled at for this, but I don't care. I hate when people quote someone's post, and simply write "this". What a waste, and soooo annoying. If people are just going to contribute a simple "this" without adding anything at all of value, why not just let that post speak for…

Laughing Cow Spaghetti recipe
I posted this picture on the meals thread, and I have had SO many emails and comments on how to make it. Instead of writing this out 20-30 times, I just thought I would post a thread. This is the meal: And THIS is the recipe: Please keep in mind that everything in the pan is on this plate. This recipe serves ONE, so adjust…

inner thigh exercises?
I am just wondering if anyone knows of any inner thigh exercises that do not require kneeling. My knees have been damaged and weak ever since I was in elementary school, and I still weigh quite a bit, so I can't put that weight on them yet. I am losing a lot of fat from my inner thighs though, and the skin is just…

avocado question
Is there a way to eat part of an avocado, then saving the rest for a day or two without it turning brown? Also, WITHOUT adding lemon/lime juice to it?

Breakfast rice?
Does anyone have any recipes for a breakfast-friendly savoury rice? I always do the same thing with rice, and it is not really breakfast for me. I'd like to make something in the morning with rice that seems like breakfast though.

Kelp Pasta
I saw this highlighted on a cooking show recently, and I am just wondering if anyone has tried it. Does it taste like regular pasta? How different is the texture? And where can you buy it (type of store, not company--I'm sure I have different companies around here than most of you)

Sodium ?
I am just wondering if anyone knows what the minimum amount of sodium one should get a day? I know there is a maximum, but there has to be a minimum as well. It can't be 0 since we need sodium to live. Anyone know?

small step, but yay anyway!
As I was just posting on someone else's post I realized: I FINALLY have LESS than 100 pounds to lose. I started my journey needed to lose 166 pounds, and now I have less than 100 to go! I am soooo excited. It is still a long way off, but this time next year I hope to be at my goal.

identifying hunger
Does anyone else have difficulty identifying feelings of hunger and/or satiation? I can sometimes tell if I am at the EXTREME (soooo full that I feel as I am about to explode or soooo starving I could eat my own arm). Other than the extremes though, I have no idea if I am hungry or not. Sometimes I think I am hungry but I…

McDonald's for breakfast
Anyone have any idea what a vegetarian can get from McDonald's for breakfast? I don't have choice in the restaurant and am going there tomorrow morning. Last time I had pancakes, but they took more than a third of my calories. I love their hashbrowns, but I am thinking they are mostly empty calories. Has anyone tried their…

My first success
I still have a LONG way to go, but I count this as my first success: went to the doctor yesterday for a follow-up. I was diagnosed with anemia several months ago, and was also low in vitamin b12 (I was an unhealthy vegetarian). I am still a vegetarian, but my blood tests came back with my iron levels on the low-side of…
