I just bought a huge head of cauliflower for this, and then I realized all the recipes I find are looking for riced cauliflower. How frustrating...I don't have a ricer or a food processor, and I am not going out to buy one for this. Soooooo....has anyone made the crust out of MASHED cauliflower before, and if so, did it turn out well?

You can use a cheese grater as well. May take a bit longer but will give you the same results.

Let us know how it turns out!
  • I used my box grater (cheese grater) to make it. works great.

You can use a mashed, but it is better if you cut it into small pieces before cooking it.

I haven't tried mashed but it would probably work. I once just chopped it up very finely, and since then I've been using a regular cheese grater. Both work well, and it's delicious!

Here is one that was posted on here a while back that I saved for later:

Let us know how it turns out!!
  • There's a method where you can use a blender, so long as you add water in with the cut up cauliflower, there's a youtube video about by bigredkitchen.
  • The only way I've seen it done is with a cheese grater, so I'm sure that will do.

Damn, I was gonna say the same thing :) I haven't made a pizza crust, but I have made fried "rice"

Anyone tried with frozen cauliflower? I kinda wanna give it a try...

Haha--I don't have a cheese grater either. :O Looks like I need a few more kitchen gadgets?? I will give it a shot mashed, but I might get myself a ricer at one point since fried "rice" made of cauliflower sounds inticing.
