Thoughts for next week
Hey Folks, I wanted to throw out a couple of ideas to out band of merry burners: This group is all about support and motivation, not competition. It occurred to me that having a group goal, like burning 4000 calories in a week, might exclude someone who wants to burn 6000 in a week, or 250. So, I'm suggesting we state our…

Workout Efficiency – Which works?! (repost after crash)
Hi everyone, First, some history: I started MFP in January, and quickly worked myself to burn over 1200 calories a day, and I was limiting my intake to 1300. I lost 40 pounds in three months. I realized I was starving myself, and adjusted my intake to the recommended 15-1600 using the MFP wizard, and factoring in the…

HIIT vs. Endurance
Hi. I'll keep this short. I go hills on elliptical for 90 minutes and burn 1400 calories. I do 40 minutes of HIIT, and burn 640. Which is better for weight loss, endurance, and overall health?

The next step
Hi. I’m Erik, and I live north of Seattle, in Washington State. I’ve been a stay-at-home dad, and worked part-time for the last 5 years. I started MF in January, and I’ve been quite disciplined and successful so far. I tend to be a bit of a loner, and only accountable to myself in this process. I’ve been limiting myself to…

90 Minutes on the elliptical... now what?
I began in January with 20 minute workouts daily. Now I'm up to 90 minutes of hills that peak on level 17. My complaint? This takes an hour-and-a-half out of my day, everyday. My question? Do any of you know of workout routines for the elliptical that will continue to challenge me, that isn't working out 120 minutes, or…
