Sore throat when running
My legs don't get sore very quickly when running, but after about ten minutes of reasonably energetic running, I start to have a sore throat (from breathing too quickly?). Does anyone know how to ameliorate or get rid of this? Is it just a matter of being unfit that will go away as I become healthier?

Unsupportive family
Does anyone else have issues with their family disapproving of their weight loss endeavours? I'm 18, but I'm still in upper sixth (senior year? I'm not familiar with US school), and I have to live with my parents until I go to university. My parents insist that I eat whatever they make, and I have virtually no control over…

Low carbs and constipation
Not to go into too much detail about it, I've been trying to cut carbs, but I've had issues with lack of dietary fibre. Is there any way around this?

Could someone C&C what I've eaten so far today?
For the last 70 days or so since I decided to lose weight, I haven't been trying very hard. My only real tactic has been never to eat very much. From today onwards, however, I'm aiming to eat more cleanly. With this in mind, could I have comments and critique on what I've eaten today so far? What should I change? I know…

Eating 1200+ a day
I try to eat around 1200-1300 calories a day, as I'm short, flabby, and fairly sedentary. However, when I'm eating, I often think that what I'm eating has more calories than it actually has - for example, today I ate less beef, less trifle, and less turkey than the portion size, because I didn't want to overeat, then got…

Apple sizes
The food database lists apple sizes by diameter. I was wondering if anyone knew the sizes by circumference. For example, I just ate half of a 9"-circumference apple. Was that a medium or a large apple?

Eating things because it'd be rude not to
Does anyone else find that they eat ridiculous quantities of stuff that they don't need or want to eat, but it would be rude or awkward to decline? It'd be rude to barely eat anything at a formal dinner, which I have rather many of lately, or at a family dinner; and friends, family, classmates, and colleagues constantly…

Meat cravings
I don't have too much of a problem with actual hunger, but I often cave to cravings. I have a solution worked out for sugar cravings, but I have no idea what to do about meat cravings. They aren't too much of a problem, since I don't like prepackaged meat snacks, so I'd have to actually get some cold meat out of the…

NSV: Jeans!
In December, when I started seriously counting calories, I wore UK size 10 jeans. I don't know what my measurements were at the time, other than that I was somewhere between 115 and 120lbs and had a very high body fat percentage (flab everywhere, could barely run 300m without being out of breath... generally a very…

Eating healthily in restaurants
Today seemed to go quite well at first, as far as diets are concerned: I ate 128cal of fat-free yoghurt for breakfast, did some exercises, then went out. However, I had a family dinner in a local restaurant, one where most of the patrons clearly don't care about their calorie intakes. I ordered what looked like the…

How few calories is it safe to eat per day?
I decided to start losing weight last week, but I haven't started watching what I eat yet; I'm only recording my usual eating for diagnostics. I eat, it seems, ~1100cal/day on average. Being completely ignorant of dietary requirements, I thought this was a little too much, and that I should get it below 900. A little…
