Meat cravings

I don't have too much of a problem with actual hunger, but I often cave to cravings. I have a solution worked out for sugar cravings, but I have no idea what to do about meat cravings. They aren't too much of a problem, since I don't like prepackaged meat snacks, so I'd have to actually get some cold meat out of the freezer, stick it on a plate, and carry the plate upstairs if I wanted to do anything about it - I almost did so once, but I had enough time to decide that roast beef at 8pm really wasn't the best of ideas. But, if I'm craving meat when a meal starts, I eat it like a pig - far worse than with sugary things. What can I do?

If it is lean meat and you don't eat crazy amounts of it, I don't see much of a problem with that craving. It could actually be good for you, especially in the evenings. During the night your body works on your skin and muscle repair / development amongst other things and for that it needs protein and healthy fats. Not such much carbohydrates though really.
