Fitness/Daily calorie goal question.
I'm sure this gets posted all the time-- but when adjusting my fitness/calorie goals, I noticed that if I put that I'm sedentary, but want to exercise 6 times per week for about 30 minutes, it gives me the SAME daily calorie goal (1200) than if I just put no exercise goals at all. Why is that? I like eating my exercise…

Is this true? Calories don't matter?
Someone on my Facebook made a post about how they lost weight and I shared some of the differences I've been making in my diet to attain my goals. I ended up talking with someone else on their friends list, which led to this conversation. And note, I do consume full-fat foods on occasion, such as avocados, nuts, etc. JB:…

How do I find out how many calories I burn when exercising?
I'm doing the Get Running program, which is fairly similar to the Couch to 5k program. I do not own a pedometer right now or anything else that is fancy. (low on funds) Can anyone help me figure this out? For right now, week 1, all I do is walk for 5 minutes for a warm up, then run 1 minute, then walk for 1 minute and 30…

Big difference between LoseIt and MyFitnessPal?
I signed up for LoseIt, just for the heck of it. According to its calculation (and not even factoring in exercise), it claims I can lose about 1 pound and a 1/2 once a week by eating 1472 a day. Now, MyFitness Pal says that if I eat 1472 a day AND include exercise burning 462 calories a week total that I can only lose 0.6…

Question.
So the calculator thing put me at 1729 to eat with working out lightly 1-3 days a week; just doing cardio. Now...I'm not interested in lifting at the moment. I might start later, but right now it's not my main focus. So, should I still be eating that many calories? I'd afraid I won't lose any weight this way.

Confused.
So I was taking a look on the Eat More to Weigh Less group, and it had this calculator site: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ and based on the information I put in, it gave me this: Basic Metabolic Rate (BMR): 1480 Daily Calories to Maintain Weight (TDEE): 2035 Daily Calories based on Goal in Step 6: 1729…

Can I lose 2 pounds a week eating 1300 calories a day?
I'm 5'4" at 148 pounds right now. I'm finding 1200 is kinda too low, so I bumped it up to 1300, and on exercise days I eat back the calories to stay at my net of 1300. I know it's just 100 calories more than 1200, so it's not like it's that much of a difference. Anyway, could I lose 2 pounds a week, or will it average out…

Any 5'4" girls feel free to add me!
Just looking for more friends so we can reach similar goals together. :)

Weighing pasta before or after cooking?
I bought a food scale and have been weighing my pasta before cooking, so I don't make too much. It looks like enough before I cook it, but after I feel like it's barely anything? I'm wondering if I'd have more if I weighed it AFTER. Thoughts?

Exercising before eating or after?
I like exercising in the evening when the weather gets cooler. Is it better to eat dinner before I go, or just eat when I'm done?

Peanut butter
Trying to decide today whether to get regular peanut butter or that nasty Trader Joe's Better n Peanut Butter. The latter is way lower in calories, which would be easier to incorporate into my diet. Real peanut butter is actually a huge binge food for me, but I'm starting to feel deprived and sad without it. If I can…

Can't figure out how many calories I should be eating.
myfitnesspal has set me up to eat 1200 calories to lose weight. I find that this is way too little for me, as I have been bingeing WAY too much lately. I'd like to lose two pounds a week, but don't want to starve myself for it. And as for my bingeing, I've just considered to start throwing out all of the things that I go…

Healthy and filling snacks to get through a work day?
I always find myself having low energy while at work. I'm looking for a filling healthy snack to stave off hunger until lunch and/or dinner when I get home. Any suggestions? Somehow I find that nuts are way too high in calories. Like, this bag of walnuts I looked at early had nearly 200 calories for 1/4 of a cup! That's…

Just thought I'd say hello.
Hi everyone! This has been my first week where I've used MyFitnessPal consistently. I lost two pounds, and then yesterday had a GIGANTIC binge on ice cream, shredded cheese, peanut butter, and cheerios. I feel really gross and sluggish now. Normally I would have given up after this. I feel like I've lost the same 20 pounds…
