afternoon slump...
Wondering what some of you who work in an office do to combat the afternoon slump....I am always unmotivated, sleepy and a bit grumpy in the afternoons at work. My mornings are spent scurrying around the hospital or seeing patients and my afternoons are spent in front of a computer. Unless I have a meeting to go to, I'm in…

pre-workout foods!
what are some of your favorite PRE-WORKOUT snacks/meals?? I need ideas for things I can eat quickly between work and the gym. I no longer use the pre-workout shakes that I used to....they didn't sit very well with me when I'm running! I use the DotFit protein bars a lot, but that gets old.

Need some advice...
I am starting over on MFP as of late August 2013. I have great motivation and goals in mind, but I want some advice/opinions of others who will be willing to share their knowledge... Here's where I'm at... I'm 5ft 7in and currently 198.6lbs. I would like to be at 140lbs. I work in a dialysis clinic as a social worker so I…

finally...a NSV of my own!
I've been reading all these NSVs for a few months now and while I'm genuinely excited for those that have experienced them, I couldn't help but wonder when it was going to happen for me. I was growing quite impatient! Well halle-freakin-luja it happened today!!! I got in my closet to pull out some dress pants for work and…

how do you manage travel??
I have been using Body by Vi for almost 2 weeks now and it is going great! Shakes are awesome and I am learning all kinds of ways to make them delicious. I am doing 2 shakes a day and using my blender to make both of them. I have not yet found a way to make them yummy on their own...without ice/frozen fruit/ things that…

brand new
HELLO! I am brand-spanking new to Crossfit (meaning I have completed 1 WOD  ) and I have some questions. My boyfriend has been doing Crossfit for a little over 2 years and completed Level 1 certification. He has been on me for a long time to do Crossfit and I finally caved. He is going to be coaching me through…

"2 words that stop cravings"
I read in a Health magazine today to try this phrase when you are faced with a craving..."I DON'T EAT THAT". "New research finds that 80% of women who used those words stuck with their good eating habits compared with 10% who said "I CAN'T". Saying "I CAN'T" signals that you're giving up something desirable, but saying I…

never been so happy to go to the doctor!
Last time I saw my doctor was July 30th. I went in for a check-up after having a bad asthma attack. Of course I had to step on the dreaded scale, and almost fell over when I saw the number 210....I had no idea I was even close to 200!!! THAT was the day I decided enough was enough... I was shocked, and scared and after…

heart rate monitors- advice!
I have been reading a lot about people who are buying the heart rate monitor watches/bands, etc. and I'm wondering what you all think of the ones you have? What are the benefits of them and which ones are the best?

will this pass?....
I am somewhat new to MFP, but I'm really committed to it this time! I started the Body by Vi Challenge on Saturday and have been doing great. I am not craving all kinds of things and have been surprised that the shakes actually taste good and are satisfying. They give me great nutrition which takes the guess work out of…

feeling a little deflated...
So, I just started my shakes on Saturday and I am loving them so far! I am doing 2 shakes a day. I just posted on a MFP message board about feeling very hungry, and asking others if this will pass, since I am new at this "not eating whatever I want, whenever I want". Obviously, I know if you don't eat, you will be…
