Water question
So I got a Soda Stream for Christmas...which I love for making sparkling water. Here's my question...can I use the water that i make (I don't add anything to it aside from the C02) as my water intake? Can I use that instead of the "flat" water? I wasn't sure if it mattered....I'm not adding flavor/sugar/syrups anything…

Fitness Magazines
OKay, I am thinking about ordering some kind of fitness magazine. I know there is Shape, Fitness, Women's something or other and a slew of healthy cooking/living kinds of magazines. I'm interested in one with a focus on exercise I think. I keep looking at them at the store and can't decide which is the better one to order.…

Gym membership or treadmill?
Okay, I have to do something. My treadmill died last week and it's not usable AT ALL. So I was going to replace it. I found one that I like - NordicTrak 1750 - it would cost me around $1800 for everything. But then I got to thinking - maybe I should join the Y or Anytime Fitness in my town instead....what would your…

Eating at Maintenence
I keep seeing this phrase and I'm sure I'm going to sound dumb on this question - but what is eating at maintence? How do I figure out how many calories that is? I'd like to move to maintence for the next couple of months. I'm getting close to goal and want to start thinking through maintence, not losing. Thanks.

Beach Body Turbo Fire Question
...I just started Turbo Fire on Monday and have switched the day off to either Friday or Saturday depending on my week and activities. But what happens if say I want to swap the Thursday Fire 55 EZ workout and do it Wed instead and do Wed Fire 30/Stretch 10 on Thursday. Is that okay? I would make sure I didn't do the same…

Exercise Video Frustrations
Maybe I am the only one who is annoyed by these few things in exercise videos (and it's not about the trainer, sometimes they bug me to.) First - why do you have to do ads in front of the video. Give me the warning and then the menu, put all the junk after that. Those ads get really old after the first session. 2nd - make…

Shoe question (not a which is good question)
I'm wondering how long your shoes last, kind of on average. I have a pair that's about 6 months old and look worn on the sole, but still feel okay to run in...wondering when I should look at replacments - is it now with the bottom wearing - or when they start to not feel comfortable? Might be a silly question, but they are…

Berry French Toast Casserole (Individual)
I make four of these at a time and then can eat them throughout the week. 1 slice bread, cubed (Sarah Lee 100% Whole Wheat 45 cal per slice) per serving 1/2 T cream cheese (I use whole fat, but you can reduce a few calories if you use something else - 50 cal) per serving Berries (maybe 1/8 cup so I figure 20 cal) per…

Question for those who BodyRock
Two things - First what kind of warm up do you do before these workouts? Or do you have to or should you? I just found their site and have been doing them after a run, but lately - I have found that I don't have time right after my run so may have to move it to a time of day I don't typically exercise...so wondered. And…

I think the max is supposed to be about 170...and my minimum maybe 120. but I find different calcualtions so now I'm not sure that I'm right...thanks.

New Runner needs and avoid
So, I'm just getting into this running thing and finding that I really like it - Did I just type that out loud? Anyway, I have running shoes as I saw that as necessary before taking up this activity. But now that I'm liking it, what other tools would you recommend for a new runner (including clothes) or would you recommend…

I POD touch question
Okay, let me start by saying I'm an "old lady" and I don't really need / want to be all technology oriented. I have a netbook for reading blogs an mp3 player for walking and a smart phone....but I wish my music and apps were in the same place....(no storage on the smart phone for music) .... and I'd like to save the data…

New to weights and not sure how to start
So I think I'm ready to start lifting some weights, but I'm not really sure where to start. I have 2 each 10 lb, 8 lb and 5 lb dumbbells. I have a 7 lb medicine ball and I have a green resistance band. I would like to start with 2 days a week - Wednesday for Legs and Abs and Saturday for arms. Could someone help me figure…

What is a plateau?
Okay, I know it's when you sort of stop losing...but my weight is Never the same two days in a row. So is it hovering around 1 or 2 (or is it a bigger variance?) lbs of a particular weight and then for how long? One week, two weeks, three days? Just not sure what actually makes "it" a plateau and not just a part of regular…

BMR Clarification
Okay, I just realized after spending some time on the forums I'm not doing food right. First some quick details. I'm at 209/210 (been there about a week). I eat on average 1200 calories day. Sometimes I go high, but it's usually a planned thing. But that's been my target. I calculated my BMR and it was 1696....so I was…

shin splints? Or something else
Okay, so I'm getting back to fitness and I really want to be able to run a 5k, here's my question - I started out using the treadmill and found that my shins got REALLY sore so I stopped the treadmill and went to the elliptical and bike and arc trainer for cardio for about three weeks. I was worried about a stress…
